CNN’S John Harwood just did a report on CNN where he says that Democrats are using the COVID relief bill to push their wealth gap agenda:
CNN’s @JohnJHarwood: Democrats using the Covid “relief” bill to address “the dominating issue in the past few decades, [which] has been the gap between rich and poor, income inequality." pic.twitter.com/Q3WV9WAmpP

Harwood actually quotes Rahm Emanuel who said ‘Never let a good crisis go to waste’ to explain that Democrats now are using the emergency COVID relief bill to push their agenda on the wealth gap.
He then calls it the ‘dominant issue’ in Democratic politics over the past few decades and says they are including in the emergency bill: Expanded Obamacare subsidies, expanded child tax credits, more subsidies for child care costs AND subsidizing employment for low-income Americans.
Harwood talks about the political risks of Democrats loading the bill up with too much, being that they could lose Senators if they add too much to the bill. They need all fifty Democrats to pass it in the Senate. But he doesn’t think any of this will create a problem for moderate Democrats.
One thing I know for sure is that the media certainly isn’t going to make it a problem for Democrats. If it were Republicans controlling everything, the Democratic media would scandalize this until Republicans took the bill down to nothing but COVID relief.
But at least they reported it, I guess.
