CNN’s John King touted Trump’s economy today, breaking the political argument that Trump could make with it and said it would be a good ‘calling card’ for any president running for reelection.

King starts by listing the biggest stats of Trump’s economy, saying “any president, forget his name, forget his party, running for reelection…50-year low in unemployment; the economy keeps adding jobs…”
To further make his point King showed a chart of the unemployment rates in big battleground states back in December 2016 versus November 2019 and how much it had fallen in each of those states that Trump won:
King notes “If you’re a president, no matter your name, no matter your party, running for reelection and that was your map in 2016, everyone of those big battleground states that went for Trump has a lower unemployment today. That’s a pretty good calling card.”
