CNN is doing their part to ensure that voters know that if they elect enough Democrats to win the House back, they will finally get to see Trump’s tax returns because of an obscure law.

"We all know elections have consequences," says @JohnAvlon. #RealityCheck: "If Democrats take the House, there's one congressman you probably haven't heard of who will be massively consequential…"

In a nutshell, if Democrats win the House back in November, CNN’s John Berman says the man to become the next chairman of the Ways and Means committee will have the power to use an obscure law and request Trump’s taxes to find out if he committed any crimes.
And while Berman doesn’t suggest it, you know exactly where that would be headed: an argument for impeachment. NOT because Democrats think they can actually impeach Trump. But if they can convince enough voters in 2020 that Trump should be impeached, then maybe they can keep him from winning again.
That’s what all of this is about and why CNN is doing their part to give voters a reason to elect Democrats to the House.
