CNN’s wannabe media critic Brian Stelter once again embarrassed himself with his own unflinching pro-Obama bias, and then he got humiliated in debate for good measure.
Stelter was seriously trying to say that Obama wasn’t as bad as Trump in his attacks on the press:

His administration tracked Rosen's comings and going and seized his phone records. They also seized months of AP reporters' phone records to try and determine sourcing. Trump is openly hostile to a wider section of the industry but hasn't taken actions like that, correct?

It seems odd to me to praise his aversion to rhetorical threats against the media when he took overt actions against multiple outlets which threatened the freedom of the press. Shouldn't his actions matter more than his words?

You said he was telling the truth. That sounds like praise and is highly debatable. The Obama admin's rhetoric on Fox News was not far removed from Trump's rhetoric on CNN and others. They said Fox wasn't a real news organization and was an organ of the Republican party.

Gutowski absolutely kicks Stelter’s teeth in (in logical debate), and he does it politely. This is how you destroy the left and their media sympathizers, not by screaming and yelling (like I am right now, ironically).
It's clear that President Obama is trying to paint himself as having been more protective of the press than he was and that quote is only true in that he didn't literally use the term "enemies of the people." It's important for the press to point out why the implication is false.

I'm not defending Trump's rhetoric towards the media. I'm just saying that President Obama is attempting to obfuscate on his own record which is troubling in its own right. I'm glad we can agree on that point.
