CNN’s wannabe media critic Brian Stelter one again got obliterated over his naked partisan bias after he shared an op-ed criticizing Justice Clarence Thomas over his wife’s partisan activities.
Here’s a taste of the blowback:
The bald avenger doesn't like it when conservative women express their own opinions. Of course, this is horribly sexist and would be a segment on his show were this said about any Democrat, but for the cause standards are trashed and hypocrisy embraced. https://t.co/C3XsRwTp6K— Derek Hunter (@derekahunter) December 28, 2018
LOL!! Look, I’m not defending everything Virginia Thomas has done, BUT it’s absurd to think that just because she has strong political beliefs that they necessarily have any bearing on how Thomas passes judgements.
But that point was made along with many others by critics of Stelter:
Does it matter that an actual SCOTUS justice attacked the President & told him to resign? Does it matter that wives are not branch offices of their husbands but can & do think independently? Is Mary Matalin proof that James Carville isn't really a Democrat? What medieval thinking https://t.co/5ZAVGqY6T6— The Cable Gamer (@TheCableGame) December 28, 2018
next thing you know she'll be running a secret cabal to socialize healthcare or heck even running for Senate in a state she has nothing to do with https://t.co/Km3vioP4Km— Michael Malice (@michaelmalice) December 28, 2018
Thomas cannot do his job as a Justice because his wife has political opinions is a garbage take based blatantly on sexism, ignorance of the judicial process, and double standards. https://t.co/PDTV4gRES7— AG (@AGHamilton29) December 28, 2018
The Washington Post strongly suggests the wives of conservative Supreme Court justices shouldn't be politically active. How feminist. https://t.co/yrZK5o1SUL— Tim Graham (@TimJGraham) December 28, 2018
Podhoretz usually has a pretty good response:
Stephen Breyer's wife is a minister. Should he recuse himself from all religious liberty cases? No, of course not. He's a liberal. https://t.co/pKgUusLrpU— John Podhoretz (@jpodhoretz) December 28, 2018
Yup. Just absurd, and if Stelter was honest, he’d address those issues instead of just stupidly tossing out the liberal part of the argument without proper context….
