Last night Don Lemon had on his show radio talker Ben Ferguson who was arguing that teachers who want to conceal carry a gun should be able to do so. But Lemon and his guess counterpart Joan Walsh were completely against any teacher ever carrying a gun, no matter what:
I get that they are against the issue, but what got me was when Lemon said that people with ‘sense’ knew that it was a bad idea, suggesting that those of us who believe teachers should be allowed to conceal a gun on their person have zero sense. In fact he told Ferguson he had no ‘sense’ on this issue.
What a condescending prick.
Joan Walsh also suggested it wasn’t the ‘role’ of teachers to carry guns, therefore they shouldn’t be allowed to do so. Seriously? Does she really want to go down that road? It was once said of women that their role was only in the kitchen and the home, that they couldn’t vote or work. Is she now saying a teachers only role is teaching and they can’t participate in protecting their students with legitimate force? Are they so bound by their ‘role’ that they can’t possibly handle a gun as well? C’mon.
Some might say that people like Walsh and Lemon are only interested in banning guns, so they have to make every excuse in the book to shoot down other legitimate forms of protecting students.
Lemon may disagree with that, but people with ‘sense’ know what this is really about: more gun control.
