As if the world needed any more help sliding into armageddon, some teens are taking it upon themselves to cough on produce at a Virginia market and post videos on social media. From the New York Post:
A group of teenagers filmed themselves coughing on produce at a Virginia grocery store, and then posted the sick stunt to social media — a “disturbing trend” amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“We have learned that this appears to be a disturbing trend on social media across the country, and we ask for help from parents to discourage this behavior immediately,” Purcellville police said in a Facebook post Thursday.
“We are asking for parental assistance in monitoring your teenagers’ activities, as well as their social media posts to avoid the increase of any further such incidents.”
Ugh. Pathetic. Of course most of us did stupid horrible things when we were teens, but this really is unconscionable. Small businesses are being hit enough by coronavirus, they don’t need prankster idiots making it worse. Not to mention just how gross it is…
Aside from that, experts say the shortages are temporary, and shelves should be restocked quickly:
