Cory Booker cited patriotism as one of the reasons why Democrats have to raise our taxes in this interview with Jake Tapper.
It’s very short and he’s trying to undermine Trump’s economy with the answer:
We’ve heard this before haven’t we? I think for most people we see how the incompetent government abuses our tax money and misuses it to expand their power and pay off their friends. If government actually used the money productively, I think more people actually would be slightly more eager to cut them a check. But the way it is used now, people of good conscience know that they’re better off giving their money to the church or other local organizations, than it is to give it to socialists like Cory Booker.
