Covid in the West Wing: Staffers, a press sec, Secret Service agents test POSITIVE, Coronavirus Task Force members in quarantine!

Katie Miller, press secretary to Vice President Mike Pence, tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend. She is married to White House immigration adviser and speech writer Stephen Miller. Another staffer, reportedly President Trump’s personal Valet, has also tested positive.

Plus several Secret Service agents have tested positive.

AND a member of Ivanka Trump’s staff.

As a result. Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and fellow key task force members Centers for Disease Control Director Dr. Robert Redfield and Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn are entering various degrees of quarantine.

So three members of the coronavirus task force are being isolated for exposure to coronavirus.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Friday outlined new measures being taken by the White House to protect staff and, of course, the President and Vice President. Those steps include contact tracing and all the general social distancing guidelines, as well as temperature checks and more.

“We’ve taken every single precaution to protect the president,” said McEnany.

Fauci’s institute said he has tested negative for COVID-19 and will continue to be tested regularly. It added that he is considered at “relatively low risk” based on the degree of his exposure, and that he would be “taking appropriate precautions” to mitigate the risk to personal contacts while still carrying out his duties. While he will stay at home and telework, Fauci will go to the White House if called and take every precaution, the institute said.

Redfield will be “teleworking for the next two weeks” after it was determined he had a “low risk exposure” to a person at the White House, the CDC said in a statement Saturday evening. The statement said he felt fine and has no symptoms.
