Dan Crenshaw CRUSHES Ilhan Omar for ‘cheap’ defense on U.S. in Venezuela

Dan Crenshaw politely crushes Ilhan Omar for her idiotic defense of the socialist dictatorship in Venezuela by blaming the U.S. for its collapsing economy.

It’s worth watching:

I really like this guy. He clearly argues with logic and reasoning, but he also doesn’t descend into mindless yelling and witless insults like so so many do in the political realm these days.

He was reponding to this dim-witted tweet from Ilhan Omar accusing her detractors of sexism and racism when they utterly destroy her argument:

Ironically, she completely ignores that Pence actually DID give a rational defense for his position, in addition to simply saying that she didn’t know what she’s talking about.

  1. Crenshaw could have taken it further, but he is too much of a class act. Why the hell are Democrats openly supporting a Putin puppet regime in Maduro? The only other countries in our hemisphere who support him are Cuba, Mexico, and Uruguay. This demonstrates the ultimate hypocrasy among elected Dems on Russia. 1) Claim Trump is a Russian puppet, 2) Support socialist who is being propped up by literal Russian troops in Venezuela. 3) ???? 4) PROFIT!!! 5) Extensive taxation on 4.

  2. Crenshaw nailed the liberal philosophy succinctly: Blame the USA first, and say that any criticism is because of their identity.

Venezuela is sitting on a (black) gold mine and the people are literally eating from garbage cans. This is the result, again and again, of socialism and what Bernie, AOC, Omar and their ilk want to force on us.

  3. The discussion is how do we defeat the race/nazi inciting left….they are breeding in schools like rats (or rabbits) which either breeds faster!

  4. Ugh. The muslim, ‘I am woman! But I have to cover up otherwise I’ll get my arse beat’ troublemaker. Childish games of ‘I can say what I want, but you can’t disagree with me because I am woman’. The irony.

  5. First, I want to say that I am very proud that Dan Crenshaw represents the Great State of Texas. God bless Congressman Crenshaw and God bless TEXAS!

I am finally understanding all that the “new” Democrat Party stands for…the new Democrat Leaders, Ilhan Omar (MN-5), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14), Ayanna Pressley (MA-7), Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) tell us:

We believe in climate change, reparations, abortion after birth, assisted euthanasia for the elderly and weak, open borders, banning all guns, repealing the 2nd Amendment and Bill of Rights, Socialism, Communism and Sharia Law.

We believe in government take-over of all business, medical care and manufacturing production, the elimination of private property and individual rights.

We believe in creating forced labor camps, punishing those who question the government and allowing the government to control and dictate how you must live.

If you disagree, then you’re a racist, a sexist and a threat to the future.

    Does that about cover it?

      1. @pybop I’ve read all of Greaney’s books, thanks for the tip. Now I’m going to see how he did with Clancy, Inc.

        1. I’m glad you liked him. You’re like me …gotta read all of a good author’s books.
Have you discovered Walter Mosley or Mark Lawson?

    1. @charli

Yep. That’s their new world order verbatim. Not somewhere I want to live.

      1. @democratsrfubar Europe is on the brink of collapse. The E.U.’s fascist, globalist pro open borders policies are destroying the heritage, foundations and individual identities of each of their member countries.

  6. Omar is just making it up as she goes along. She’s a fraud and a moron, and she has no business being in office. NONE, whatsoever. She’s a gigantic embarrassment.

  7. Wasn’t it Nancy Pelosi who said Omar didn’t know what she was talking about in defense of Omar’s blatant anti-semitism?

Where is Omar’s tweet attacking Pelosi for defending Omar by pointing out Omar is ignorant?

  8. Dan needed only to engage .00129 percent of his brain to destroy Ilan and the ignorant leftist that called him a nazi.

Have you discovered Walter Mosley or Mark Lawson?

          1. No, Lawson sounds a little familiar, though. Same genre? I recently read one by Alex Berenson. He’s a good writer, but his recurring protagonist is a Muslim convert. It seems rather odd, seeing as otherwise he’s conservative. I also picked one up by Tim Washburn (a very distant cousin) about a cyber war, it was OK.

  14. Wasn’t it Nancy Pelosi who said Omar didn’t know what she was talking about in defense of Omar’s blatant anti-semitism?

Where is Omar’s tweet attacking Pelosi for defending Omar by pointing out Omar is ignorant?

  15. Maybe some day the Republican party will elect the first one-eyed president.

  16. Why is his eye patch in the first picture over his left eye and in the second picture (Fox News) over his right eye? Inquiring minds want to know. BTW: he is right again.

    1. The photo is backwards, this seems to happen quite a bit with photos online, I’m not sure why. If you notice, the patch is on the side of his hair part in both cases. Every image of him I can find shows his patch to be over his right eye.

  17. Crenshaw – like a boss. Omar, just cross.

And a moron. And a host of other things… All bad.

  18. Omar is just making it up as she goes along. She’s a fraud and a moron, and she has no business being in office. NONE, whatsoever. She’s a gigantic embarrassment.

  19. I caught Martha’s interview with Rep. Crenshaw last night. The guy is a class act with a bright political future ahead of him.
So far Washington hasn’t turned Cruz into a squish and I don’t think it will swallow up Crenshaw either.

  20. She is a filthy anti-American POS. Send her back to Somalia. She isn’t welcome here.

    1. @TJK Look at their history of elected politicians! Does Jesse Ventura ring a bell? And, there have been others!

    2. @tjk-checkmark Uh, They voted for former professional wrestler, Jessie Ventura as their governor and former Saturday Night Live comedy writer, Al Franken. as a Congressional rep.

  21. If Omar is wrong it’s because she’s a dark skinned Muslim. By that same logic if she agrees with me, it must be because I’m a white Christian. Of course, we know the left would never accept that, thus proving how stupid it is to blame racism for everything. If we stick to facts the left loses, which is why they avoid facts like the plague.

  22. Instead of “we disagree,” it’s “she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.” They have to make us feel small.

But it’s not mere disagreement. He’s not trying to make you feel small – you, in fact do not know what you’re talking about.

This is, incidentally, why I despise people (including a few here) who feel compelled to denigrate an argument they don’t like as “just your opinion.” No, it’s not an opinion – it’s an argument, and you can either factually/rationally counter it, or you can’t. Playing the opinion/disagreement game is a copout. It’s lazy intellectual-cowardice.

    1. @danaellen Why? Is there a rule against a ticket having both members from one state?

      1. I think it’s a tradition of the party, to where they can pick up votes from another geographical region of the country if one candidate is from one area.

      2. KnogYou know damn well there is no rule. Just don’t think a ticket from one state is necessarily a good idea or a winning scenario

        1. @danaellen Lol, cool your jets. I meant no offense. I was genuinely confused why it would eliminate them being on the same ticket. Apparently they try to have the ticket be comprised of people from different regions of the country. I really did not know this.

      3. It’s in the Constitution.
Article II Section I, plus the 12th Amendment.

Basically, Texas would lose its electoral votes. Maybe if they were both from RI it wouldn’t matter so much.

        1. @d-guest I guess you educated me today. 😉

I obviously don’t know the Constitution as well as I should.

      4. It’s in the Constitution that electors can’t cast Pres and VP votes for people both from their own home state. So if you put such a person on your ticket, you can’t both have the votes of your own state’s electors. It might matter in a close election; it would’ve mattered for Bush/Cheney if Cheney hadn’t made Wyoming his “home state.”

        1. @contemplator I am the student today it appears. Thanks….I’m glad to have been informed.

    2. But it doesn’t eliminate a Cruz presidency with a Texas Governor Crenshaw. Then after two terms whoever Cruz picked as his running mate can put Crenshaw as the VP.

      1. @ David Jensen We already have a great governor with Greg Abbot, or do you have a problem with him for some reason?

        1. No problem but he’s not gonna want to be governor forever. This is his second term, and if Crenshaw can get executive experience while keeping Texas conservative that would be amazing. Besides… What if Ted Cruz wants abbot to be his Attorney General?

          1. @David Jenson I don’t believe Ted will ever make it to the White House, unless a whole lot of stuff changes. He’s too hated by the old guard and misunderstood by the majority of voters. I would love to see him POTUS. I really do. I just don’t think there’s that much hope. And, Governor Rick Perry served as our governor for quite a long time and could have continued had he not decided to run for POTUS.

      2. Almost: Here’s my future scenario. President Gregg Abbott, SC justice Ted Cruz and Texas Gov Crenshaw.

    3. There’s no legal basis for that, but candidate DO want to choose a VP from a different region to pull in critical votes.

  23. This guy will run for President one day and could you just imagine if it’s against Alexandria Ocasio Cortez? Just saying……

    1. @danaellen Their debates would not be debates, but rather teaching opportunities for Crenshaw to educate the indoctrinated masses on the virtues of a capitalistic society vs a socialist society.

  24. I disagree with Crenshaw, when it comes to military deployment. That should not be any option, period. This would amount to nothing more than military adventurism. We don’t need to deploy our military, to intervene in an internecine matter.

    1. I don’t think that’s what he said. He simply said don’t take troops off the table. I don’t foresee any event in which I would approve of troops in this situation either, but we should never say we take troops off the table in any situation and signal to other countries our real intent. Evil dictators the world over should be sitting with their advisers saying “We don’t know what the US will do.” Whenever they say “We know the US won’t do anything” like under Obama, it emboldens them.

      1. I never quoted him, on anything. I simply stated that military involvement should never be on the table, in a case like this. It is not our business to change other nations’ governments, nor is it the nation’s job to send troops to die, for other countries’ causes. If they want independence, then they’d better fight for it, themselves. The Department of Defense should not be for hire, nor should they be the world’s police force.

    2. What if there are Cuban troops, i.e., Russian or say even Chinese. They have a big stake in the South American areas.

      1. Not our problem. We are not charged with controlling other governments, determining who should be in those governments, nor fighting their battles. Venezuela is not an ally. If this was Israel, that’d be different, or even one of those weak NATO nations.

        1. It violates the Monroe Doctrine and allows our true enemies to build a beachhead relatively close by. We cannot allow increased Russian/Chinese control in our hemisphere. Makes it easier for them to attack us.

          1. The Monroe Doctrine is not law, and is not in the constitution. I don’t care about knee-jerk reactions from people that won’t actually do the fighting. If they can’t think of another way to prevent OPFOR expansion into that theater, without engaging in unwarranted combat, or unconstitutionally imposing the diktats of the American government onto another, through the use of troops, then that’s their problem. Even Kennedy wasn’t that stupid.

            1. Maybe Venezuela’s not close enough, but what if this were happening, in say, Mexico and the Russians were sending in troops there and/or had that government as their puppet? Russian troops hanging out in Juarez, for example.

Now, the question of congressional authority vs the president ought to be considered.

              1. Funny, I don’t recall a proximity clause in the Constitution. If Russians and whatever were in Mexico, clearly staging to attack America, that’s different. If they were there, by invitation, and not making any aggressive overtures, no, there is no constitutional authority to attack, and the Executive has no authority that supersedes the Constitution, just like Congress doesn’t. The same arguments are made against this country, and I count them equally invalid.

      2. @democratsrfubar The Chinese and Russians are very much involved in destabilizing South American countries.

    3. You NEVER take anything off the table–even when it’s unlikely. The last thing you want to do is telegraph to your enemy what you will or will not do.

      1. You do, if you obey the Constitution. The last thing you want to be is a so-called nation that obeys it’s own laws, only when it’s convenient for you to.

  25. There’s a difference between disagreeing and not knowing what your talking about and in either case the FRIGGIN COLOR OF YOUR SKIN DOESN’T MATTER!!

  26. Shorter Omar: “you’re racist and misogynist if you challenge my idiotic beliefs!”

  27. There are ZERO Democrat and very few Republican Congressmen that I respect or like, and he is definitely one of them. I would elect 535 of him in a heartbeat.

  28. What REAL journalists would do is ask Omar to give examples of what she’s talking about. Make her back up her nonsense in front of cameras. “Exactly HOW is America partly to blame for what’s going on in Venezuela? Give us examples, please.” ::::crickets:::::: That’s what you would get, crickets because she doesn’t have anything to back up her BS.

  29. The Left sent their crazy Marxist identitarians to congress and on the Right we sent a badass Navy Seal with an eye patch. I believe he can take on all of them.
