WATCH: Dan Crenshaw has NO apology for “terrorist” comment about fellow Republicans over McCarthy

Earlier this week Rep. Dan Crenshaw made a pretty alarming comment about fellow Republicans during the fight over the Speaker race and Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

Now that the 15 ballots are done, not to mention a near brawl, and McCarthy is Speaker and Jeffries gave a dirtbag angry partisan scumbag speech to celebrate, Neil Cavuto asked Crenshaw about the comments, and there was no apology. In fact he sort of sniped at Sen. Ted Cruz a little.

Cruz had said Crenshaw needed to “settle down” over the Speaker fight. Cavuto brought it up, and Crenshaw said Cruz has “called American citizens terrorists multiple times, so, you know, if he really wants to play that game.”

For a refresher, here’s what the Texas Republican said earlier this week:

Whether it’s Boehner or Paul Ryan or then McCarthy. Scalise would just be next and we all know it. We just can’t allow that to happen. That’s why those of us are saying ‘you pushed us into this corner, now we’re saying we won’t go for anyone but McCarthy.’ That’s why we’re saying it, because we cannot let the terrorists win. That’s basically what’s happening.

Now here he is today.

“Look, I do not think these people are terrorists to the extent that my colleagues took offense to that,” he said. “I’ve gone up to them and said, ‘of course I didn’t mean it that way.’ We were speaking in terms of a very difficult negotiation where sometimes you use a turn of phrase about not giving into terrorists.”

That is, in fact, a common phrase. People use it a lot. I can sort of see that point? But maybe when you’re a Republican dealing with the MSM in a fight with other Republicans you don’t give the left fodder by using a term that you might mean casually but THEY actually mean. A term they use when describing parents at school board meetings or MAGA rallies or Republican presidents?

I don’t want to police your colorful metaphors and similes, your cliches or your idioms, but maybe it wasn’t the wisest thing in the world to use that particular one, given all those circumstances?

Just a thought. Share y’all’s down below.
