To be fair, Daniel Hannan isn’t just talking about Donald Trump when he says America can do better and that the world expects better, he’s also talking about Bernie Sanders. He says that either a Trump or Sanders presidency slightly terrifies him. But with regard to Trump, he really doesn’t like his demeanor as a crass attention seeker. He trusts that our primary system here will eventually weed out the likes of Sanders and Trump and produce a much better candidate for president.

As an aside, just after the clip was over Cavuto was introducing Bobby Jindal and asked Hannan quickly if he liked him, and Hannan responded that he was a big fan.
I somewhat agree with Daniel Hannan, as I would much prefer a Jindal or Cruz over Trump. But at the end of the day I don’t think a Trump presidency would be a disaster for the US or the world. I’d much rather have Donald Trump with his current temperament than anyone the Left has to offer. They terrify me far more than Donald Trump ever could.
As I’ve said before, I truly believe Donald Trump loves America and that really means a lot.
