FGM stands for female genital mutilation and is being condemned at the UN by David Littman, a British Historian. Not having heard of him before, a quick Google search turned up the fact that he’s been banned by the UN before for speaking out against Islamic antisemitism. Apparently he cares deeply about these issues and isn’t afraid of speaking out.
As I listened to this I wondered where are the voices of women’s rights groups in America and even the voices of our own UN representatives. You’d think we’d be the ones making these statements. Or do we only care about women in the United States?
