US Drug Official just KILLED a major Democrat talking point against the border wall!

One of the big talking points on the left and in the media is that 90% of drugs coming across the border come in through points of entry. Democrats repeat it all the time and it gets parroted a lot by hosts and analysts on CNN and MSNBC when they discuss Trump’s national emergency.

But it’s a foolish talking point because, as we’ve pointed out here recently, there’s no real way to know how many drugs come across between ports of entry because the open areas of the border are much harder to police than the ports of entry.

Well, that changes now.

James W. Carroll, Director of the U.S. Office of National Drug Control Policy, was before the House yesterday and testified that more drugs were seized by law enforcement between the ports of entry in 2018 than at the ports of entry.

Watch the video of his testimony below. If you’re in a hurry, skip to the 3:55 mark:

Carroll testifies:

If you just go by weight…the numbers that I have from CBP for 2018 reflects the total weight of drugs at ports of entry in 2018 was 432,000 pounds of various drugs.

Between ports of entry for the same time frame, fiscal year 2018, 476,000 pounds.

That’s amazing.

Add to that all the drugs that we aren’t seizing because of the lack of a border wall and it’s probably grossly larger than what is seized at ports of entry.

Democrat talking point officially DEAD.
