Democrat Rep. literally suborning illegal entry, sending staffers to Mexico to teach people how to evade U.S. law

Rep. Veronica Escobar, who has Beto O’Rourke’s old seat, is playing the Democrats’ current game of one-upmanship at the border. You see, last week, Beto went across the border to try to drum up illegal votes for himself (things aren’t going to greeat for him in the primary race, like most of his races).

Then Sen. Cory Booker took things up a notch and instead of just trying to bring votes back, human trafficked a family across the border.

But the real top contender is Rep. Escobar, who is sending her staff across the border rather than going herself, and having them teach people how to sneak in.

Washington Examiner reports:

A Democratic congresswoman is sending staff to Mexico’s northern border town of Ciudad Juárez to find migrants returned from El Paso, Texas, under the “remain in Mexico” policy, then coaching them to pretend they cannot speak Spanish to exploit a loophole letting them to return to the U.S.

CBP agents and people from the National Border Patrol council poke to the Examiner about it.

“What we believe is happening is Veronica Escobar’s office is going … to basically second-guess and obstruct work already done by the Border Patrol,” said one senior union official, who shared evidence with the Washington Examiner from concerned CBP managers and rank-and-file members. Those documents have been held to protect identities.

That sounds bad to me. Does that sound bad to you? Keep reading.

Escobar’s team has sought interviews with 6,000 people who were returned last month, according to one CBP official. The union learned from an intelligence unit within CBP that those doing the interviews are wearing recording devices during the interviews to tape conversations and possibly listen back later.

“They went through and interviewed everybody, cherry-picked them, brought them back, and now are using them as tag lines. They’re going over there and manufacturing a lot of these issues,” said the union official.

One Homeland Security official nailed it.

A Department of Homeland Security official aware of the situation said Democrats, nonprofit organizations, and 2020 hopefuls “are furious that these migrants” are not permitted to “await their court dates in the U.S., where they have the opportunity to disappear and slip into the interior never to be seen again.”

“By opposing a system that assists migrants and speeds wait times, these individuals are exposing a cause that looks more like a cover story for their political motivations. Any efforts to subvert and obstruct federal law enforcement operations should receive a full review,” the Homeland Security official said in a text.

There’s a lot more at Washington Examiner, here.

For an encore, I’m guessing we’ll next see AOC or maybe Pete Buttigieg down in Mexico leading a caravan or maybe even driving one of those coyote trucks. With Democrats personally escorting and teaching migrants how to evade American law now, can you imagine what they’ll be doing if they WIN next year?

To tell ya the truth, there’s nobody I want less in Texas. And I ain’t talking about the migrants, y’all.

  1. The Spanish language loophole makes no sense. So people who can’t speak Spanish don’t have to wait in Mexico because they can’t live with the language barrier. Then logically if they can’t speak English they shouldn’t come to the US either because they won’t be able to live with the language barrier here.

  2. This is illegal, right? I mean, surely it is since it’s fraud. This congress bish and her people should be prosecuted and anyone they helped immediately sent home. I’m not sure if I should weep or be angry. I’m having both emotions.

  3. Isn’t it subversive to use American funds to teach foreigners how to violate American laws?

  4. It’s clear this border crisis is actually astroturf. The Ds are coordinating these caravans, and those that are trafficking these poor people for political gain need to be prosecuted.

The entire D party has declared war on the American worker and this nation’s sovereignty.

    Just my opinion…..

  5. Why is this woman not being charged with conspiracy to commit immigration fraud? There’s a huge fine for that along with imprisonment.

    1. That was the first thought on my mind! Any average Joe would be treated much differently, and not in a good way. Members of Congress are above the law?

  6. Dear Christopher Wray. there is a rumor going around that you are the Director of the FBI. If so here is some information that you might not be aware of. **************************************************************************************************
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it
on my back porch and filled it
with seed. What a beauty of
a bird feeder it was, as I filled it
    lovingly with seed.
Within a week we had hundreds of birds
    taking advantage of the
    continuous flow of free and
    easily accessible food.

    But then the birds started
    building nests in the boards
of the patio, above the table,
    and next to the barbecue.

Then came the crap. It was
    everywhere: on the patio tile,
    the chairs, the table …
    everywhere!

    Then some of the birds
    turned mean. They would
dive bomb me and try to
peck me even though I had
fed them out of my own
    pocket.

    And others birds were
    boisterous and loud. They
    sat on the feeder and
    squawked and screamed at
all hours of the day and night
and demanded that I fill it
when it got low on food.

    After a while, I couldn’t even
sit on my own back porch
anymore. So I took down the
bird feeder and in three days
the birds were gone. I cleaned
up their mess and took down
the many nests they had built
    all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like
it used to be ….. quiet, serene….
    and no one demanding their
    rights to a free meal.

    Now let’s see…..
    Our government gives out
    free food, subsidized housing,
    free medical care and free
    education, and allows anyone
born here to be an automatic
    citizen.

Then the illegals came by the
    tens of thousands. Suddenly
our taxes went up to pay for
    free services; small apartments
    are housing 5 families; you
have to wait 6 hours to be seen
    by an emergency room doctor;
Your child’s second grade class is
    behind other schools because
over half the class doesn’t speak
    English.

Corn Flakes now come in a
    bilingual box; I have to
‘press one ‘ to hear my bank
talk to me in English, and
    people waving flags other
    than ”ours” are
    squawking and screaming
    in the streets, demanding
    more rights and free liberties.

    Just my opinion, but maybe
    it’s time for the government
to take down the bird feeder.

If you agree, pass it on; if not,
just continue cleaning up the crap!

    1. Like millions of us,sounds like you are demanding the border be f…..g closed. But you were more polite, with your bird Feeder

    2. I cleaned up the fragmentation, poor grammar and punctuation
and saved it. Thanks for sharing that great allegory !

    3. Very good. Here’s another good share about Congress:

A group of scientists placed five monkeys in a cage, and in the middle, a ladder with
      bananas on top.
Every time a monkey went up the ladder, the scientists soaked the rest of the monkeys with
      cold water.
After a while, every time a monkey would start up the ladder, the others would pull it down
      and beat it up.
After a time, no monkey would dare try climbing the ladder, no matter how great the
      temptation.
The scientists then decided to replace one of the monkeys. The first thing this new monkey
did was start to climb the ladder. Immediately, the others pulled him down and beat him
      up.
After several beatings, the new monkey learned never to go up the ladder, even though
there was no evident reason not to, aside from the beatings.
The second monkey was substituted and the same occurred. The first monkey participated
in the beating of the second monkey. A third monkey was changed and the same was
repeated. The fourth monkey was changed, resulting in the same, before the fifth was
      finally replaced as well.
What was left was a group of five monkeys that – without ever having received a cold
shower – continued to beat up any monkey who attempted to climb the ladder.
If it was possible to ask the monkeys why they beat up on all those who attempted to climb
the ladder, their most likely answer would be “I don’t know. It’s just how things are done
      around here.”
THIS is how the United States Congress and Senate do things.
They don’t know why, they only know this is how it has been
done and will continue to do things this way until WE the
      people MAKE them change.

  8. There should be some special kind of punishment for politicians who openly flout federals laws and aid and abet others who do so. But of course no one in our government has the backbone to even suggest such a thing.

    1. @laphil
Absolutely everyone who establishes Sanctuary Cities & orders LEO’s, etc to disobey Federal Law to protect illegals should be immediately charged & removed from office. But then, that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

  9. Another article with NO FACTS, no names, just innuendo/hearsay.

It’s sad that the media do this continuously in order to persuade voters. Is the left doing this…probably, but where’s the PROOF.

Anyone making accusations that an individual/individuals are aiding & abetting/breaking the law should have the guts to reveal themselves & stand behind what they say.

    1. Really? You know for a FACT that there are no FACTS? Or is that just your OPINION? Moron!

      1. @buzzkill59
        Which part of;
“What we believe is happening” didn’t you understand?
Any names revealed from those making the accusations?

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what the media does to influence the public. That applies to both sides.

      2. The only evidence in the article is the “privacy release” on her office letterhead, and the reporter and/or the anonymous sources obviously had absolutely no idea what it was or what it meant. They took it as evidence of a secret criminal conspiracy then the reality is it was a notice to BP indicating that Escobar’s office had become involved in the case, and that the applicant had given permission for Escobar to examine the applicant’s private file.

So you are correct, there are facts. But the facts as provided cut against the assumptions in the article.

        1. The facts were well known in the summer of 2015
when the DNC advertised on Social media, Central American TV, radio, and with leaflet dropped invitations to run for our border. When the first caravan formed and began marching (because the infamous ‘Death Train’ was overcrowded), They CAME !
The media repeated for months there were NO CARAVANS! Democrats repeated there WAS no invasion”. The DNC began sending liberal lawyers to coach and advise the illegal economic refugees growing in Mexico outside our gates.
NOW, this Emergency can’t be ignored by the media, the proof that these invaders are draining our economy , attacking, raping, and murdering Americans and legal immigrants are reported DAILY you lying troll, yet democrats and progressives are demanding MORE of these
invaders, overwhelm our bordercrowd our emergency rooms, and strain our economy like good little Alinskyistas.

At least you lie consistently instead being cautious and inserting a little fact to support your hourly spam propaganda.

          1. LOL. You have that typed out somewhere and just cut and paste it in randomly? Because it has nothing at all to do with anything I have posted.

If you happen to have evidence indicating that Escobar was indeed committing crimes, please post it.

            1. No I didn’t and yes it does. I corrected my typos, but yes, I typed that myself.
I’m not a copy paster, Punk.

  10. I wonder if everyone of those people behind the representative are willing to take in those children they want freed? House, feed and cloth them at their own expense, without ANY government assistance, just like in the old days when coming to America required a relative taking responsibility for you.
That question should be asked of them, I bet very few would be willing to do that, yet that’s exactly what they want from us, the tax payer, when we cant even house, feed and cloth our own.

  12. Aiding and abetting illegal aliens to break into our country instead of defending our Constitution and the people you were elected by. They should be held accountable for this crap. Proof that elections matter. Every dem needs to feel the heat and lose their seat in 2020.

  17. Sedition is the vocal/written threat to do something against/harmful to the country. Treason is undertaking acts against/harmful to the country.

  18. The allegation itself is interesting. Obviously If she and/or her office are injecting knowingly false material information into sworn affidavits, forms and interviews, that thats a crime. But there is a lot of head scratchers in the article. Take the supposed smoking gun “evidence” of wrongdoing, for example, a “privacy release form” on Escobar’s Congressional office letterhead, which was in the file when the applicant returned and gave the file to BP. The author of this article doesn’t seem to have the first clue of what this form is or means.

Federal law requires that Members of Congress or their staff get written authorization before they can obtain information about an individual’s case from other department of government. The form must be submitted to other government agencies (in this case, the BP) so that the Congressional Office can get information about the case from the agency.

So why did the staffer put the form in the application file when the applicant went back to BP? Escobar obviously wants to get and review the applicant’s internal BP file, and the only way she can get the information is to have the applicant provide BP with the form. (The form also lets BP know that Escobar is involved, which means they might have some additional motivation to do things by the book.) So rather than the form being evidence of a clandestine criminal conspiracy, it evidences that Escobar was openly involved in the case and would be following up further with BP. Hardly seems the making of a criminal conspiracy.

    1. My first reaction to this article is why is this U.S. representative spending time and money for those who aren’t her constituents.

‘Any efforts to subvert and obstruct federal law enforcement operations should receive a full review,” the Homeland Security official said in a text.’ You spend your comment describing a detail and not the problem.

      1. The “detail,” as you call it, undercuts the notion that there was a problem. As for your reaction, you pose it as a question, but did you ever consider trying to answer that question? Or is just a rhetorical expression of your outrage?

Congress sets immigration law and policy and Congress is charged with overseeing the execution and enforcement of the policy, and Escobar sits on the Immigration and Citizenship Subcommittee. Obviously she is searching for instances where BP is violating immigration policy. BP may not like this, but it most certainly within her purview.

Women’s US Team was fantastic today. Fourth World Cup victory. They are now American Legends. I hope you bothered to watch.

        1. Outrage? You are a little annoyed that you argue with yourself most of the time. Soccer isn’t my game and I don’t care that they won. I follow college sports mostly. After all, t not-an-orange, the US team is comprised of athletes not intellects. But, glad you enjoyed. You need some happiness.

          1. Yes, outrage. Read the posts. There is profanity, repeated (and ridiculous) claims of treason and sedition. As for your post, when people draw strong conclusions about a supposed “problem” without even bothering to try to understand the facts, and when they criticize others for merely looking into the facts, then I’d say that “outrage” is a pretty apt description. But if you don’t feel outraged, then I stand corrected.

Women’s college soccer is fun to watch.

As for the US Team, they aren’t dumb jocks. Three of the players played for Stanford, five for University of North Carolina, two for UCLA, two for Penn State, and one each went for UC Berkeley, Rutgers, Santa Clara, Portland, Wisconsin, and Oklahome State.

The only two players on the US Team who didn’t play in college are Lindsey Horan (turned down a scholarship to play at UNC) and Mallory Pugh (briefly attended UCLA but left to focus on her professional career.) Both Horan an Pugh joined the national team when they were only 17.

Visiting the site with a different identity? If you are asking whether T_ump is my real name, then the answer is No. If you are asking whether I am Annie, LOL. Whoever “she” was, she sure left an impression.

            1. ‘Or is just a rhetorical expression of your outrage?’ You were talking about my outrage and I don’t see it anywhere. The Women’s US team is comprised of athletes who produce what? Goals? They are entertainment. Well paid, too. Again, Orange-not-an-orange, I don’t care for soccer – never have. You are praising athletes as though they are representative of greatness. They are not great citizens because they won a game. It’s a game much like your commentary.

              1. You are the one who brought up their lack of intelligence and also mentioned that you like college sports. These were great college athletes at great schools (some of them at least) which strongly suggests you misjudged them.

            2. I think you know who Annie is but if you sincerely do not, she is like you: predictable and a wee bit angry all the time.

              1. LOL. You’ll think what you want no matter what the facts. You’ve proven that. But you are wrong nonetheless.

                1. Why would you ask me, if you weren’t going to believe me anyway? I am starting to think that you just like my company.

  19. There has to be an investigation regarding Mrs. Veronica Escobar as she might have a
connection to La Raza. Unfortunately this group is still under the radar.

  20. Here’s the number of the illegal alien invaders that have been apprehended by BP to date:
    500,200 as of January 2019.
That is just one half of the year. And only the apprehended ones. Let that sink in Washington D.C.s bleeding hearts. It is an invasion!

    1. @lillie-belle I’m all for the corrupt Mexican Officials making it hard for migrants to get into our country. Of course, if you have $5-$10K to give someone why do you need to escape your country? There are too many Americans who can’t come up with that kind of cash.

  21. Sedition is the vocal/written threat to do something against/harmful to the country. Treason is undertaking acts against/harmful to the country.

  22. I Facebook shared the Washington Examiner story yesterday. I was appalled and furious that this is happening, but not really surprised.

    1. This is TREASON. No doubt about it. And I can only hope that nobody shows up again here in TRS and explains the “Shelter and Food” definition of treason because I am really sick of that.

    1. @dramamama60 Amen! Aiding and abetting is a crime. These people need to be arrested. Why is it okay for Dems to blatantly break the law, while if a Republican appears to have done something offensive, not illegal, they need to be harassed, prosecuted, and destroyed?

  23. Dear Christopher Wray. there is a rumor going around that you are the Director of the FBI. If so here is some information that you might not be aware of. Veronica Escobar, Congress Woman from Texas has sent members of her Staff to Mexico to advise thousands of Mexicans who were returned to Mexico for being here illegally to lie and exploit loopholes that will allow them back in into this Country. .I know under your leadership you have a dwindling staff, but could you look into this issue as soon as possible. You know there is an approaching election and this could be a huge voter fraud issue among the illegals.Sincerely, Concerned Legal Citizen.[ CLC ]

      1. Thanks CV,I am probably much older than you and had much more time for me and my wife [deceased] to prepare for our retirement life. Thanks for both Your responses

    1. I am 100% sure that the communist Dems are filling up their database at the border.
They “catch the names and release”…………

      1. It really is hard to believe how much corruption is occurring in our elections.Greatest military, and some of the best law enforcement in the world. Now one of the most corrupted voting system ever here in these United States. Thanks Susitna

  24. Trump will do nothing about it. Haven’t you noticed that nothing is being actually done to reduce the numbers coming over the border? Trump has full control of the military and he will not stop this invasion, and it is an invasion. One or two sneaking over the border isn’t a problem, thousands is a purposeful invasion done for financial gain. Trump does nothing. Bill Barr does nothing, Horowitz does nothing, the Justice Dept. does nothing, the State Dept. does nothing. If I wanted nothing to be done I would have voted democrat. Fool me once.

      1. Guess you’ve missed out on all the news the past couple years regarding the courts basically stopping everything he’s tried to do? Not saying he couldn’t do more, but I get it. What would be the point? A federal judge in Hawaii can block it? Like the travel ban? The attempt to end DACA? Which wasn’t even an executive order but the courts wouldn’t let the administration touch it? I could keep going, on and on. Oh, and what about Congress? They have no responsibility? And as soon as Trump claimed an emergency or wrote an executive order, the usual suspects on these comment threads, in the media and in congress, would clutch their pearls over that. Am I right?

I’m more than happy to talk about Trump’s shortcomings but maybe someone could answer these questions? And like I said, there are many more instances I could mention that some folks conveniently forget…..

        1. Abbott is the governor. If he can’t handle sanctuary cities in his own state then he should go back to being whatever he was before getting into politics. Real leaders accomplish things. The National Guard on the border with empty rifles is an empty gesture and using them to do paperwork is a misuse of firepower. Huffing and puffing from the wheelchair about how he’s going to fix the crooked voting in the state is just that, huffing and puffing. I’ve seen this game for 60 years, I’m 73, and by now I can recognize a snow job when I see it, and Abbott, Trump, and Perry, for that matter, are all snowmen. You want to give the president and the governor an OUT everytime they fail is your business but it tells me your ideology and your undying support for them is more important than the job they do. Only results count, not intentions. A minister, when I was 12, said something to me I’ve lived by all my life – Never put your faith in a man unless you want to be disappointed. The road to hell is full of good intentions and damaged people. We are the ones hurt, not Trump, he’s a billionaire and when his time is up he’ll still be a billionaire while the people will be damn near broke from the weight of the disaster he will leave in his wake. Judges be damned, a real leader can accomplish feats unimaginable but seems the ONLY thing this president cares about is the economy, the stock market, making a deal, and backing off threats he makes, and how many people go to his campaign stops. I’ve had enough. Either he gets results on the border or he doesn’t. He stops Iran or he doesn’t. Those two things were his signature campaign promises. So far, both of these things have worsened.

          1. @flashfolds You are obviously either a faux conservative or incredibly unaware of how things work in the Government. I would be willing to bet you complain about dictatorial leaders but then complain when leaders aren’t dictatorial when something you want done doesn’t happen.

My guess, you’re a faux pretending to be outraged that leaders you are actually against haven’t accomplished the near impossible. The reason I say this is because you’re specifically targeting the only politicians who have actually done something against illegal immigration. The “fool me once” comment is ridiculous because you’re implying on a thread about Democrats actually breaking the law, that since enough hasn’t been done to stop illegal immigration you should have voted Democrat and will in the future; REALLY?!

            1. @paladin Great response. I read a sentence or two of that one’s an skipped the rest. I can’t waste any time, I’ve got an important nap to get to in a few minutes.

              1. @dr-strangelove Thanks Doc. As I continued to read this individual’s comments, I thought “Looks like another troll has entered the site in an attempt to change our minds through lies and deceit”. It’s the Left’s way of doing things. I’m actually amazed we don’t suffer more people like that on this site. It’s one of the reasons I like RS so much.

                1. Paladin- As I continued to read this individual’s comments, I thought “Looks like another troll has entered the site in an attempt to change our minds through lies and deceit”.

Yes exactly, that’s how i see it also.

He said in his comment above that if he wanted Democrats, he would have voted for them, giving the impression that he must have voted for Trump and other Republicans. That isn’t necessarily the case at all. It is also the only time he even mentions Democrats in all of his posts that I have read. On another thread one of our posters from CA complained about the high cost of vehicle registration in CA, and he added that the lefties in CA don’t care about the working people. Flashfolds added that it was also Republicans that don’t care, as though there are many of those in CA.

What he is advising that Trump do would be complete anarchy, that Trump should just ignore the court’s rulings, through away the pen and just get on the phone and order it done. He knows that if Trump ever governed in that manner there would be credible grounds for impeachment. It would take about a week for him to be impeached in the House, and I believe even McConnell would push for his removal in the Senate. By the next election the Republicans would be wiped out.

Maybe he isn’t a Democrat, but he sure as hel1 isn’t a Republican, or from the right either. He’s advocating for anarchy.

                2. Doc- They can only make trouble if people buy into their garbage. That is why I stopped responding completely to one of them. Now I will do the same with these latest editions. They are not worth my time. 🙂

                3. @scope-formerly-pinecone I’m trying, but I find that the temptation is almost overwhelming at times.

                4. Doc- I agree about the overwhelming temptation, but once I’ve read a few of their posts, they start to bore me. They become very predictable. You cannot have any rational discussion with the irrational, so personally I stop trying 🙂 .

                5. @scope Yeah, slapping trolls around is not one of my best attributes. Good advice.

                6. Doc- I would have to disagree there. You are a star at comebacks. In my view they only crave the attention and engagement, but don’t give a rat’s azz about what anyone else thinks/posts. Please don’t get me wrong, because it is not my choice/decision to make on who talks to them, or what they say, but, imagine them having no responses to what they post and it all hangs out there waving in the wind. They would get so bored they would run home to again just sing with their choir. They can’t agitate if no one is agitated.

                7. @scope-formerly-pinecone Thanks! I should qualify that. I was really good at partying, too, but it wasn’t one of my best attributes. Yeah, I guess that I get a good zinger in there once and a while. That’s not my main purpose here and distracts from the discussion. I don’t mind disagreement, it’s the nature of things and partly how we learn from each other. These pedantic trolls drive me nuts. But as they taught us in rehab, I’m in control of my emotions and I’m shouldn’t give out any rent-free space in my head. OK, back to cutting the grass!

                8. I’m happy you 3 like to pat each other on the back for nothing. May as well give each other a reach around. Pusses…

                9. @paladin Yeah, flash, B_Rad, T_oll and another one who will go nameless seem to be here more to cause trouble than actually change anyone’s mind.

                10. Do you think they are coming back from that other website, with different posting names, which was started to give the Trump haters their space to destroy, or are they coming from the progressive wing of the left which is all they ever were, which could in fact include many from the first option.

                11. @scope That’s quite possible, others have speculated that T_oll is actually Little Oral Annie. I don’t know, really.

                12. Doc- It would be hard for me to guess at their former identities as under the old disqus system I had many of them blocked. I never read what they had to say once I blocked them. Prior to that I do remember Annie seething with hatred for Trump, and viewed her as coming from the progressive left even back then.

                13. Certain ones I might be able to guess, based upon their writing style. I don’t have the energy right now, though.

                14. Perhaps they have become convinced that certain minds are too closed to change.

Want to talk about cop abuses and overreach, doc?

                1. I’ll go with Satan all the way. I’ve always been amused by the term “devil’s advocates.” If you are arguing in favor of the devil, you are Satan..

            2. Truth is truth and you can philosophize all day but it changes nothing. You are what I would call a rabid conservative without a thought. I’ve been a conservative all my life and know the difference between shit and bullshit. Too bad you’re still in the shit stage. I for one will not give a pass to Trump because the mean old democrats won’t cooperate with him. He has extreme power as president and if he can’t solve the problem he says is uppermost then he needs to leave it to someone who can. I guess you never heard the say, “…damn the torpedoes….? A leader will find a way.

    1. Have you paid any attention to the judicial activist courts thwarting, or outright banning everything Trump and those in his administration have tried to do? Would you prefer if Trump, and the entire admin just ignore the courts, and throw any and every rule of law into the crapper? That’s what you are advocating for.

      1. Courts? Trump has authority to call up the military with an emergency action order and there’s not one d— thing the congress or the courts can do about it, at least in the short term. Trump is so worried about being re-elected he won’t do it. Iran is going ahead with enriching for nuclear weapons reasons but Trump will still do nothing about it even though all presidents since Carter said they would use military force to prevent it. Do we go to war over this? Well, we have to make a stand sometimes and if it can’t be resolved then yes. I am 73 and I went to war in VN and nobody objected because we were defending the SEATO agreement, this is as important to our safety, even more so.

        1. I agree with declaring an emergency but guess what? An activist judge in Oregon can and will put a stop to it.

        2. No one objected to going to war in Vietnam? They say memory is the first thing to go . . .

          1. I was there in the earliest part of the war, late 1964 through 1966, and there was NO objection in sending us. Only later were there objections as the draft kicked in. Don’t make stupid responses unless you know actual history.

            1. First and foremost, thank you very much for your service at such a young age.

Second, turning to your point, and with no disrespect meant, I don’t think your statement is quite accurate. There were protests to American involvement in Vietnam in 1964 and they really picked up in 1965, and their had even been some small protests to US support of the South Vietnamese regime even before 1964. Also, in May of 1964 in NYC, the first Vietnam protesters publicly burned their draft cards. No doubt the protests picked up steam as the US got deeper into the war and as more people were drafted, but it is inaccurate to say that “there was NO objection to sending us.”

As importantly, when more people actually figured out that we getting into a full fledged war, there were most definitely objections, regardless of the SEATO justification.

              1. I never saw or heard of any but then again I was overseas and in those days news was hard to come by, no computer, no phones, and snail mail took weeks to deliver if at all. If there were wide spread protests then I stand corrected.

                1. That’s certainly understandable. Communication was a bit different then. I think that early on the protests mostly occurred on liberal campuses and it cities like New York and San Francisco but spread nationwide in December 1964 and in 1965, and picked up steam from there.

  26. There has to be an investigation regarding Mrs. Veronica Escobar as she might have a
connection to La Raza. Unfortunately this group is still under the radar.

    1. I think I just did with the outrageous vehicle registration fees I just paid here in California.

“American worker/tax payer last” is the Ds platform here in California.

      1. I just paid my vehicle taxes, but my concern was Gasoline is over $4 a gallon and about $.80 of that is Ca. State gasoline taxes.

        1. My goal is to retire out of state when able. This state is an absolute mess. I don’t know how people survive here.

You better make at least 100 K just to survive…

          1. Well keep investing in you home, never refinance and hopefully some kind of an investment plan and hopefully you will have something to take with you when you leave.Good luck CV

      2. @central-valley My registration went down last year, from $125 to $51, probably because my pickup is an ’07, and mostly because it’s Iowa.

        1. A friend is moving to Idaho from CA, registration for his truck will be $60 as opposed to $800! Just signed a recall petition for Newsome…..made me feel better briefly.

  27. “Close the child -killing concentration camps”, but hey, lets keep PP operational. How do they know which side of the bed to get up on in the morning?

    1. @hidyho Why the Left side of course, or as it’s called in Italian, the Sinister side.

    1. Ummm . . . state governors do not have the authority to fire elected Federal officials or their staff members. Not even in Texas.

        1. For what exactly? He’s a state governor. What state law did she break? Treason against Texas? LOL.

    2. Abbott is a big mouth. We still have sanctuary cities all throughout Texas and nothing has been done. I pay exorbitant amounts of property taxes to pay for illegals in our schools and our hospitals. Abbott loves this crap and he never plans to do anything about it anymore than Trump will, it’s just a talking point to get more votes. They want the illegals here because too many Millennials are too damned lazy to work.

        1. Stupid reply. You want to trade for Pol Pot? Just as dumb. Get an education before replying.

      1. I live in Texas also but to put the blame on Abbott is ridiculous. He’s a governor. He’s not the president. And as we’ve seen with this current president, any move to stop illegals will be overturned by activist judges. It’s happened numerous times so what do you think a governor can do?? He’s sent The Department of Public Safety down there to help. He’s sent the Texas national guard. I believe a thousand less than a month ago. Both are hamstrung by activist courts. They can’t detain anyone, s#%t like that.

I’m pissed too. I get it. Texas is being overrun. I’ve been screaming it from the rooftops. Along with a lot of other people. Direct your anger at the courts, Democrats and the squish Republicans.

        1. I agree. Until these idiot courts are taken care of, we are screwed. My only hope is smart legal minds, that all seem to be GOP develop a plan before these illegals get embedded.

      1. @t_mp Aiding and abetting people in committing crimes. It’s appalling for Americans, especially elected ones, to encourage people to violate our laws and teach them how to get away with it.

        1. If there was sufficient evidence indicting that she or her staff were purposefully adding knowingly false material facts to applications and statements given under oath and required by US immigration laws and regulations, then she or her staff could be prosecuted, but nothing mentioned in the article even comes close to evidencing this. Those who provided the information may suspect and even believe that her staff is coaching applicants and submitting false application information, but their suspicions and beliefs are a far cry from evidence justifying an arrest and conviction.

Again, it comes down to facts and reality. Outrage and innuendo doesn’t cut it, especially not with regard to criminal law. The reality is that the article does not provide facts which support your vulgar demand to “throw the bit** in jail.” You can’t throw someone in jail based on outrage. You can’t throw someone in jail because BP is angry at her for helping applicants. It isn’t a crime to help applicants, unless there is evidence she did something illegal in the process.

          1. @t_ump Jimany christmas…lighten up. Of course I wouldn’t want them thrown in jail without proof. If she is indeed in a scam to teach the immigrants waiting in Mexico how to lie to take advantage of loopholes or to skirt our laws she should be jailed.

            1. @kong1967 You have been corrected by T_oll. Shut up and take your medicine like a man!

              1. Isn’t funny how T_oll reliably takes the opposite position on everything? Every time.

                1. Funny, yeah. But not ha ha. I think that you’re right that it’s a denizen of the Dark Site causing unnecessary strife.

                2. I know it is. Those f-ers hate my guts and T_oll made a point of coming at me when it first got here. Like it had been chomping at the bit to get at me. I like it though, when I’m in a bad mood I can just download it on them. Saves the wife from attitude. 😀

                3. Wow. You sure think highly of yourself. Truth is, I don’t give you much thought at all, except to return fire when fired upon. In that regard, I guess I mistakenly thought that, unlike many here, you weren’t so fragile that you couldn’t handle a little back and forth banter.

                  Obviously I overestimated you.

I’ll try to be gentler with you in the future. I wouldn’t want your fragile ego to completely crumble.

                4. @ryan-o Just checked my spam box for a password reset I didn’t get and found all of the replies that i haven’t been getting. Yeah, it’s good to have an outlet, but when we reply to these trolls, it just encourages them.

                5. I take the position supported by the facts every time. It is pretty amazing though how often people on both sides are getting themselves all worked up without bothering to consider the actual facts.

It’s an odd notion I know, but facts have to be our friends. We just end up looking foolish if we are constantly taking positions based on fantasy and outrage.

            2. If she violated any law in AMERICA perhaps they could charge her, but doing it in Mexico isn’t a crime here…Maybe get her on some kind of conspiracy but that’s hard to prove.

              1. Any efforts to subvert and obstruct federal law enforcement operations should receive a full review

Being across state lines in another country does not give a free pass to violate U.S. law. Russian companies were charged and they aren’t on our soil. If she’s obstructing the law she’s obstructing the law. Maybe she should join her aids in Mexico and stay there to avoid punishment if there’s an investigation and they decide to charge her. Then again, Mexico would arrest her and send her up to face trial.

That’s assuming an investigation is done and charges are filed…which I seriously doubt.

  28. Here’s the number of the illegal alien invaders that have been apprehended by BP to date:
    500,200 as of January 2019.
That is just one half of the year. And only the apprehended ones. Let that sink in Washington D.C.s bleeding hearts. It is an invasion!

  29. It’s clear this border crisis is actually astroturf. The Ds are coordinating these caravans, and those that are trafficking these poor people for political gain need to be prosecuted.

The entire D party has declared war on the American worker and this nation’s sovereignty.

    Just my opinion…..

    1. It’s a fact that Leftist organizations have been down in South and Central America organizing, educating and motivating these people to come here. They tried to sell the American public on their ideas. Not nearly enough went along and not fast enough. So, plan B is getting as many socialist loving, uneducated, America hating people here as possible to make the transformation happen. And it’s happening.

        1. Trump is part of the problem. How is the exposing the left through documents Trump said he was going to reveal going?

  30. Isn’t it subversive to use American funds to teach foreigners how to violate American laws?

    1. Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to 20 years in prison.
Sedition: the act of inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it.

    1. Doc- Is there any difference between the Antifa anarchists and the left, including the left media?

  31. Why is this woman not being charged with conspiracy to commit immigration fraud? There’s a huge fine for that along with imprisonment.

    1. That was the first thought on my mind! Any average Joe would be treated much differently, and not in a good way. Members of Congress are above the law?

  32. This woman should be censured at the least and expelled ultimately from Congress. This is insanity . America we must stand up for OUR country and its citizens, rather than importing a new voter base for the Marxist/Democrat party .

    1. @lillie-belle I’m all for the corrupt Mexican Officials making it hard for migrants to get into our country. Of course, if you have $5-$10K to give someone why do you need to escape your country? There are too many Americans who can’t come up with that kind of cash.

  33. I Facebook shared the Washington Examiner story yesterday. I was appalled and furious that this is happening, but not really surprised.

  34. Sounds like taking an oath to uphold the Constitution doesn’t mean much to some elected officials.

  35. Cheating Dumocrats trying to turn Texas blue. Once that happens, the GOPe will never win the Presidency.

  36. Veronica Escobar should be arrested and removed from her seat; she is an anarchist who hates America. THIS is why borders and vetting are essential to a prosperous nation! VOTE OUT ALL DEMOCRATS!

  38. Every single Dem presidential candidate must be asked about this traitor. Put them on the record with this simple question: Do you support what this Congresswoman is doing? If not, what consequences do you propose she should face?

  39. I seem to remember 0bama and his staff went and invited illegals to come over our border with ads like get your food stamps and crap.

  40. She should be arrested for aiding and abetting criminal activity. She and her staff, assists in a crime, but isn’t committing the crime themselves, so she and her staff are the people known as an “accessory to the crime.

  41. How the hell is this not against the law? Subverting US law? Do they not give a s#%t about the safety of Americans? These f-ers should be arrested.

I’ve got a family and I already have to worry about the criminals we already have here much less having to worry about a congresswoman bringing in more. Wtf?

  42. The Spanish language loophole makes no sense. So people who can’t speak Spanish don’t have to wait in Mexico because they can’t live with the language barrier. Then logically if they can’t speak English they shouldn’t come to the US either because they won’t be able to live with the language barrier here.

    1. That sure makes way for all the African and Middle Eastern people headed this way to come on in.

      1. Policymakers don’t think ahead so whatever they create is riddled with loopholes and unintended consequences.

  43. Does this not violate her oath of office to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. She should be removed from office immediately.

    1. Exactly! She should be arrested immediately. How long do you think a regular citizen would have to wait before getting arrested for doing this? Pathetic

      1. Arrested for what, exactly? I see that they suspect she and/or her aids may have been coaching applicants to lie on their application, but proving it would require a lot more than a suspicion or belief.

          1. I did. As far as I can tell so far, the article seems to be a big nothing burger. Some agents and a not-too-bright reporter tried to turn a privacy release form it into a secret criminal conspiracy. I hope it doesn’t blow up in their faces.

            1. No, I didn’t say you should investigate it. Sheesh, think a lot of yourself, dont you? I’m talking about real investigators like, you know, DHS, FBI and such. Not some wannabe “know it all” sitting in their boxers with Cheeto dust on their gut.

              1. LOL. You don’t need to work for the FBI to see what is happening here. All it takes is a brain and willingness to look objectively at the available information. You keep hyperventilating about fantasy arrests though. Lock her up. Lock her up. Lock her up . . .

And did you ever wonder why you are so quick to go with the ad hominem attacks, rather than trying actually engage in discussion? The answer is seems obvious, but I’m just wondering if you are aware of it? If not, maybe you should “investigate it.”

      2. Us peon citizens would be arrested before we could draw our next breath!

But this is a member of Congress so the laws they pass for us don’t apply to them.

  44. This is outright lawlessness by a public servant. She should be arrested, cuffed, perp walked and convicted of sedition.

  45. This is illegal, right? I mean, surely it is since it’s fraud. This congress bish and her people should be prosecuted and anyone they helped immediately sent home. I’m not sure if I should weep or be angry. I’m having both emotions.

    1. It depends. If evidence exists indicating that she or her staffers are knowingly perpetrating fraud by adding false statements and information into the immigration application, then she or they could be charged with fraud. The article accuses of her of this, but doesn’t really offer any compelling information which would prove this is what is happening, and it makes a few statements that cast doubt on this conclusion. Obviously one would have to have more facts to make such a determination.

    2. Abbott is a big mouth. We still have sanctuary cities all throughout Texas and nothing has been done.
