Democrats and other liberals are melting down on Twitter because Howard Schultz, the former CEO of Starbucks, is announcing that he might start a “self-funded independent presidential run.”
They think this will just lead to splitting the vote and giving the election to Trump:
Vanity projects that help destroy democracy are disgusting. If he enters the race, I will start a Starbucks boycott because I’m not giving a penny that will end up in the election coffers of a guy who will help Trump win. https://t.co/epUYVrcEg8

I do hope you enjoy our liberal meltdown coverage as much as I do:
The best thing that Howard Schultz can do for the country is invest in education, voting rights, civil rights, and climate advocacy. There is zero appetite for this, and there is an urgent need for the Democratic candidate to win in 2020.

https://twitter.com/TopherSpiro/status/1089290232569188353Howard Schultz? That’s gonna be a venti Fuck No for me
— Brett Hamil (@BrettHamil) January 27, 2019
I’m sure there’s no connection between Howard Schultz floating a Presidential run right around the time of the release of his book
— Dan Pfeiffer (@danpfeiffer) January 26, 2019
.@HowardSchultz running for POTUS as an independent would put the froth on @realDonaldTrump ‘s Cinnamon Dolce Latte, splitting the opposition and making Trump’s low ceiling potentially high enough.https://t.co/O6HsJAL8sP

Hey @HowardSchultz, please think long and hard before you do this. Think about the country https://t.co/uB4bCjApYs

Dear Howard Schultz,
— David Rothkopf (@djrothkopf) January 27, 2019
Love that you want to help the country. Running for president won’t do that. It will hurt it. Donate your money. Campaign for the Democratic candidate. Don’t be Jill Stein. Don’t help re-elect Trump.
Thank you,
America

That's right. Trump opponents need to unite, not splinter. @HowardSchultz shouldn't abet Trump's only strategy, which is divide and conquer. https://t.co/zPKX2JlCkb

Let's pause and appreciate that Howard Schultz moaning about "both parties" is not at all unusual among billionaires.
— Matthew Chapman (@fawfulfan) January 27, 2019
They all want a party that caters to billionaires without the baggage. That will never exist because normal people hate billionaires' political laundry list.
And a threat! LOL!!
Hey, Howard Schultz, if you are really thinking about running as an independent and playing spoiler, don’t effing do it. We Democrats will rain hellfire down upon you. Your selfishness and stupidity could get Donald Trump re-elected.
— Adam Best (@adamcbest) January 26, 2019
This guy is trying to draft Beto O’Rourke:
I will not only #BoycottStarbucks if Howard Schultz runs for President as an independent, but stand outside everyday protesting.
— Nate Lerner (@NathanLerner) January 26, 2019
His ego and selfishness is disgraceful. https://t.co/pc88l5KYl6
So amazing.
https://twitter.com/tonyschwartz/status/1089604930724392960Gonna be interesting when independent spoiler candidate Howard Schultz’s most committed base of voters are Twitter Democrats who scream “but Bernie’s not a Democrat!”
— David Sirota (@davidsirota) January 27, 2019
Still uncertain of who to support as @TheDemocrats nominee for President, but I am 100 PERCENT CERTAIN of two things:
— Fernand R. Amandi (@AmandiOnAir) January 27, 2019
1. I’ll NEVER support vanity, ‘independent’ spoiler candidacies like those of @HowardSchultz or Russian stooges like @DrJillStein
2. I’m forever #NeverBernie
Ahhhh. So. Fun.
Here’s Schultz the Spoiler Supreme:
