Democrats enraged at Feinstein over Amy Coney Barrett hearing, calling for her resignation from Judiciary Committee

Feinstein has found herself at the center of a ton of criticism after Amy Coney Barrett’s Senate confirmation hearing last week, with Democrats calling for her to resign from the Judiciary Committee. Even Chuck Schumer isn’t defending her, only saying that he had a ‘long talk’ with her after the hearing:

FOX NEWS – “I’ve had a long and serious talk with Senator Feinstein. That’s all I’m going to say about it right now,” Schumer told reporters at a news conference, The Washington Post reported.

Feinstein, the 87-year-old senior senator from California, serves as ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the panel before which Barrett appeared.

After the hearings concluded, Feinstein faced a torrent of criticism from Democrats and others on the left over her line of questioning of Barrett – criticism that appeared to intensify last Thursday after Feinstein was seen sharing a hug with her longtime Republican colleague, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who chairs the committee.

Several critics called upon Feinstein to give up her role as the top Democrat on the panel, The Washington Post reported. As ranking member, Feinstein stands to replace Graham as chair if Democrats take control of the Senate in the Nov. 3 elections.

The hug wasn’t the only thing that enraged Democrats, according to Politico:

The Barrett proceedings ended with Feinstein praising Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and then hugging him. She called the Barrett hearings “one of the best sets of hearings that I’ve participated in,” a comment that drew waves of angry criticism from the left.

Here’s the video of her comment:

Ted Cruz said this, among other things, just proves how the hearings were a disaster for Democrats:
