A letter from members of the US Capitol Police office was released today claiming their members are upset that GOP leaders McCarthy and McConnell refuse to support the Democrat commission investigating the riot of January 6th:
NEWS: MEMBERS of the U.S. Capitol Police have issued a statement to members of Congress expressing "profound disappointment" with McConnell and McCarthy's positions on the Jan. 6 commission, citing the "trauma" that officers endured that day. pic.twitter.com/CRweVhIAnD

The first problem is that this letter is based on alleged anonymous sources in the Capitol Police office and the second problem is that it was circulated by House Democrat Jamie Raskin:
@RepRaskin's chief wrote the following in an email forwarding the unofficial letter from USCP: pic.twitter.com/khQ2JKSsBb

As Sean Davis points out:
What evidence do we have that it was written by any USCP officers? Given the authors’ anonymity and the fact it originated in Raskin’s office, it could just as easily have been written by Raskin or his staff and pasted into a document with USCP letterhead. https://t.co/Byp55SHoaB

And it probably was. The US Capitol Police released an official statement today disavowing it, saying it’s not theirs and they don’t take positions on legislation:

This wouldn’t be the first time Democrats faked the news to try and get their way. Just look at all four of the ‘Russia Russia Russia’ Trump years and the Kavanaugh hearings if you don’t believe me.
How did an unofficial, unverified, anonymous letter circulated by House Democrats get published on official Capitol Police letterhead? https://t.co/bF2GvTLCtN
