DERSHOWITZ: Trump CANNOT ignore deposition if he’s sued by Stormy Daniels, but here’s what he CAN DO

Alan Dershowitz was on with Fox News this morning where he explained that Trump simply can’t ignore a deposition if he’s sued by Stormy Daniels, but he does have other options.

He explains below:

Dershowitz explains that the Supreme Court has already ruled that the president must submit to a deposition if he’s sued. So Trump simply can’t ignore it or say no to the deposition if he ends up being sued by the likes of Stormy Daniels. Dershowitz points out the SCOTUS case he’s referring to is Jones v. Clinton, where Clinton took his case against testifying all the way to the high court and lost unanimously.

What Trump can do to avoid the deposition itself is to default or settle the case if he’s sued, which is the very advice Dershowitz said he gave Clinton but was ignored. And the reason for that advice is to avoid the perjury trap that Clinton ended up getting impeached over.

Which leads Dershowitz to another issue that he calls a ‘dreadful mistake’, and that is the hiring of Bob Bennett. According to media accounts the Trump legal team has offered a job to Bob Bennett. But Dershowitz says he’s the very lawyer that got Clinton impeached, that gave him bad advice and led him into the perjury trap. Dershowitz exclaims “What’s wrong with them?!?!”
