Today Governor DeSantis held a press conference at a hospital in Tampa Bay on a new COVID treatment and spent around 8 minutes taking questions at the end of the presser from reporters. I’ve got it cued up to the Q&A here:
But a reporter from Spectrum Bay News 9, Josh Rojas, who was at the press conference claimed that hospital security guards blocked reporters from accessing DeSantis because he didn’t want to take questions from the media.
Tampa General Hospital security guards held the media back against our will so that reporters could not ask @GovRonDeSantis questions as he left the hospital. @TGHCares @BN9 pic.twitter.com/9ZlTGOtMNs

What’s even more bizarre is that Rojas, who tweeted this, was one of the reporters to ask DeSantis a question in the press conference!
This from DeSantis’ spox:
What a joke. Not only did @GovRonDeSantis take questions from media at presser, he answered a question from this reporter 👇 BTW, we were at a hospital with a COVID ward where they have security protocols, not just for the Gov, for everyone. But… anything for retweets I guess! https://t.co/razr2RFZPZ

This is the very definition of fake news and why the media’s reputation is rubbish. Rojas wants people to believe that DeSantis was running from reporters and not taking questions, when the very opposite was true.
