Soooo overnight there was a big brouhaha on Twitter because the Daily Beast sicced their best convicted cyber-hacker to doxx a black Trump supporter who [maybe?] produced the doctored Nancy Pelosi video everyone is all riled up about.
NEW: I went looking for the Russian troll behind the 'Drunk Pelosi' viral video hoax. Turns out he's an itinerant forklift operator from the Bronx who's been secretly running hard-right "news" outlets across social media for years. Also, not Russian. https://t.co/mChiyVqy0B

So why is this is a story if it’s not a Russian troll? Just because you hate Trump supporters who can make viral videos?
You doxed a black guy in NYC who wanted to remain anonymous bc he was afraid if people knew he was conservative it would hurt him
You outed him anyway
Why?
He posted a doctored video of Pelosi
Will you do the same for the thousands of libs who post doctored videos of Trump?

Reminder that the DB did basically the same thing a few months ago by going after a pastry chef who happened to work at Mar-a-Lago and posted some conspiratorial stuff online: https://t.co/jeKxqHe7fr

Then the writer’s own bizarre past came to light:
Hold up. If Wikipedia is to be believed, you are a felon & were the first person in America to not be allowed to use the internet after being released from jail & now you’re shaming other people who do stuff on the internet b/c you don’t like their politics? Do I have that right? pic.twitter.com/aKNInOl4Bw

He tried to justify his personal vendetta under the guise of journalism:
Thousands could be a tough lift, but if you can take a second to point me to the most recent one that 1) Presented the video as authentic from behind a news facade; 2) Fooled millions of people, including the president’s lawyer (or anyone of equal stature) and 3)

3) Spawned a national dialog that included former cabinet officials and newspaper editorial boards, then I’ll get started Monday morning.
— Kevin Poulsen (@kpoulsen) June 2, 2019
See how that works? The media creates a “national dialog” over a video they’re angry about, and that gives one of their scumbags the cover he needs to doxx the guy who made the video.
And of course Brian Stelter loved it:
Let it be known far and wide that @brianstelter retweeted this. The self-proclaimed media watchdog is cool with other journos hunting down a random guy and doxxing him because he posted a joke video critical of a Democrat. This is why we hate most of your profession. https://t.co/YKIMwVW7p1

You can bet he’ll slobber all over this report on his “reliable a-holes” show later Sunday….
