[UPDATED WITH CRITICISM] – Virginia Governor just endorsed killing a baby once it’s fully delivered – [VIDEO]

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam just endorsed killing a baby once it has been fully delivered.

Northam was asked about the video that went around yesterday of a Virginia Democrat proposing a bill that would allow a baby to be aborted while the mother is in labor.

It’s barbaric! Yet Northam played it down, saying the attention it got was overblown, explaining what he thinks would actually happen if a woman was in labor and wanted an abortion:

Here’s the critical part:

“If a mother is in labor – I can tell you exactly what would happen – the infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians & mother.

So I think this was really blown out of proportion. But again, we want the government not to be involved in these types of decisions. We want the decision to be made by the mothers and their providers.

And this is why legislators, most of whom are men by the way, shouldn’t be telling a woman what she should and shouldn’t be doing with her body.”

Honestly, when I heard that last line for the first time, I may have let a few choice words slip out of my mouth. Ugh! How completely insane for him to spout such drivel, especially when he just endorsed the murder of a baby that was already born!

Northam is actually saying that if a woman wants to abort her child while in labor, the physicians will go ahead and deliver the child and then they can decide whether the child lives or dies.

Seriously.

I just do not understand how such cruelty can be condoned by rational people. What evil must rest in their hearts that they would ever think something like this is okay.

To quote Matt Walsh, The Democratic Party is completely overrun with bloodthirsty, abortion-loving radicals.

I would hope that, upon hearing this, the people of Virginia would denounce their governor and call for a recall election to kick him out of office. This kind of radicalism must be purged!

UPDATE:

I just wanted to address something here. Susan Hennessey from CNN claims that we on the right are misconstruing what the governor said in his remarks:

Northam is clear in his comments that he is discussing a situation in which an infant is born but unable to survive and parents and physicians together decide whether to continue or remove life-preserving efforts. Which is not at all what the right is claiming he said.

In the video Northam does say just before what we quoted above:

“When we talk about third trimester abortions, these are done with the consent of obviously the mother, with the consent of the physicians – more than one physician by the way – and it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus that’s no viable. So in this particular example, if a mother is labor…”

Perhaps I should have included that, but I’m not sure it makes a whole lot of difference to the overall point.

Because even if a baby is born with half a head, the baby should be given the chance to LIVE! If the baby dies on its own, that can’t be helped. But to kill a child, especially after it is born, just because it has ‘severe deformities’ or isn’t what the doctors feel is ‘viable’ is still murder.

If a baby is born and it isn’t breathing for whatever reason, RESUSCITATE IT! It is a human being and deserves the chance to LIVE!

The point is abortion is wrong, period, and it should be outlawed.

I will note that the only exception that I could even remotely understand, and this is incredibly rare, is if for some reason having the child will absolutely kill the mother. Like if it’s literally one life or the other, then I could understand it. But that hardly ever happens and I almost hate to even mention it because of that.

So yes, I still strongly condemn the governor for his remarks, as they are still reprehensible.

Just to further make the point…
