Dez Bryant: The Dallas Cowboys are done kneeling!

Well this is wonderful news:

NY POST – The Cowboys have knelt for the last time this season.

Wide receiver Dez Bryant revealed Friday he and his teammates will stand with their hands over their hearts during the national anthem for the rest of the season, the Star-Telegram reported. The Cowboys, known as “America’s Team,” made headlines Monday night when they knelt as a team — including owner Jerry Jones — before rising for the anthem at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

Bryant added that the kneeling statement was in response to comments President Donald Trump made last week targeting NFL players who protest the anthem as a way to shed light on racial inequality in America. Jones defined the team-wide action as “a statement about unity” and “a statement about equality” after Trump called on NFL owners to fire any “son of a bitch” who fails to stand for the anthem.

The Cowboys’ plan to stand aligns with the scene during the national anthem Thursday night, when the Packers and Bears both stood linking arms while the song played. Last weekend, more than 200 players took a knee during the anthem in protest of Trump and racial inequality in America, the original reason for the protests.

As a Cowboy fan I am so happy to hear this. I don’t want to even think about this anymore as I continue to watch games this year.

It’s also good for the league and I’m glad other teams have come out and promised not to kneel any longer. Let’s hope they all do that.
