An eagle-eyed viewer noticed the the other day that there was something peculiar about the photos of Lia Thomas in an NBC News report that aired on the Today Show.
First, here’s the video. Curtis Houck noted how giddy NBC got over Thomas man-handling the competition so easily:
Watch how giddy NBC's 'Today' show is about Lia Thomas crushing the competition at the NCAA D1 women's swimming and diving championships.

Now in case you didn’t notice it, check out how smooth they made the face of Thomas in one of the photos versus the untouched photo:

This wasn’t the only one. I noticed another photo in the video that looked like a blur-fest:
Here’s the original I found on a report from a local NBC News station:
So if a local NBC News station published it untouched, I think it’s pretty clear that the National NBC News organization decided to photoshop it to make Thomas look more like a female. Unreal.
If I’m not mistaken there have been media scandals in the past about news agencies touching up photos, so much so that I thought it was completely off limits these days. But apparently not if you are supporting a dude unfairly competing against women.
