Last night Beto O’Rourke said that “walls don’t save lives, they end lives”.
Yet in this photo below we see Beto being protected by a ‘wall’:

That’s from a Huffington Post reporter. Even they recognize how bad this looks.
Here’s a video of Beto talking to someone through the ‘wall’:

Emily Miller, the campaign spokeswoman for Ted Cruz, tweeted this in response:
Why is Beto behind a fence? Didn’t he just say walls and fences make El Paso more dangerous?
Great questions.
I guess a ‘wall’ is good enough to protect Beto’s life, but not the people at the border?
Just in case you wonder where this ‘wall’ was in relation to his stage, you can see it in the background here:
So sad to see so many fellow Americans who have yet to see the light. Then again, maybe those who attended are not my fellow Americans afterall. pic.twitter.com/QZmO6HESaE

I also take issue with the fact flags OTHER THAN THE US FLAG are being flown...everyday I thank GOD for @tedcruz pic.twitter.com/RgJiMKxGUm
That’s definitely not 10k people.
In any event, Beto clearly used a fence, barrier, wall last night to keep certain people out of certain areas. Was it mandated by the city? I don’t know. Was it his idea? No clue. But nevertheless one was there and he was most definitely using it.
Go ahead and use this as your open thread. I know you want to!
