The House will be voting on what is basically a symbolic bill on funding the Postal Service as part of their PR scam to pretend that the GOP is suppressing the vote. This will be the wrapping up of that scam as they switch gears to say “nevermind, go vote in person” as CNN’s Bakari Sellers telegraphed last night.
Fox’s Leland Vittert reported on the vote this afternoon, saying that “Congress is taking a break from their August vacation for a rare Saturday session, and voting on a $25 billion dollar funding bill for the U.S. postal service.”
Chad Pergram says there will about 12 or 15 Republican “defections” to vote yes on the bill. He played a clip of Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma waving this off as nothing but a show.
“So we’re going to have an entertaining couple of hours, fortunately it’s on a Saturday morning so I don’t think very many Americans will waste time listening to this,” he said. “But when my friends want to get serious and want to negotiate and move something forward, we will be ready.”
The bill basically says it will stop reforms from Postmaster General DeJoy, which he already suspended anyway. And Trump has already said he’d veto it.
So, yeah, it’s just for show, for the Dem rubes to get worked up about.
