The beautiful Dr. Nicole Saphier was on Fox and Friends this morning and explained the truth about the Delta variant, which the Biden administration is trying to make out to be as bad as the alpha variant. Short answer, it’s not.
In a nutshell, she explains that yes the Delta variant is far more transmissible (maybe double) and does increase the viral load in people’s noses a lot.
However she explains that in most of the cases where the already-vaccinated are getting it, they are simply mild cases. She says the vaccines still protect against severe disease, hospitalizations and death with respect to the Delta variant.
And she adds that these breakthrough cases are rare. The New York Post helps put that in context (click to enlarge):
The bottom line is that natural immunity and the vaccines work against the Delta variant and that’s great news for me since I’m already vaccinated.
