Dr. Oz explains why he’s kept his Turkish citizenship [VIDEO]

Much has been made about the dual citizenship of Dr. Oz by his opponents, namely Fetterman.

Dr. Oz was asked about his dual citizenship, both American and Turkish, and he explained why he has kept it.

In a nutshell, his mom lives in Turkey and has Alzheimers, so he keeps it so he can continue being custodian over her healthcare.

Watch:

Dr. Oz was actually born here, but Turkey allows the children of their citizens abroad to also have Turkish citizenship.

I actually have a friend who is from Turkey, and he told me it is much harder for foreigners to control the healthcare of a parent if they don’t have citizenship. So it makes sense why he would keep it.

All that said, Oz vows to give it up if he becomes the Senator of Pennsylvania. He said he’s made other arrangements to care for his mom in the event that happens.
