DUDE: Jamaal Bowman doing damage control after his office caused alarm by calling Republicans ‘Nazis’

Jamaal Bowman’s office sent out a plea for other Democrats to defend him in the wake of him pulling the fire alarm yesterday in the office building of the Capitol.

That plea contained talking points which referred to Republican members as Nazis, according to Politico who obtained a copy of the document:

Rep. Jamaal Bowman is circulating a list of talking points to fellow Democrats in a bid to stop the burgeoning GOP push to punish him after he set off a House fire alarm during Saturday’s chaotic spending votes.

The New York Democrat’s press secretary sent a memo on Monday afternoon to all House Democratic offices requesting that they defend Bowman for the flap over the alarm, which has prompted a Republican push to sanction him. A copy of the office’s communique was obtained by POLITICO.

One suggested response from Bowman’s office to questions about the incident: “I believe Congressman Bowman when he says this was an accident. Republicans need to instead focus their energy on the Nazi members of their party before anything else.”

Now Bowman is doing damage control claiming he didn’t authorize this ‘Nazi’ language:

Yeah, I bet he does condemn it now that Politico has gotten their hands on it and sounded the alarm about it. But does he really?

Funny story. Jamaal Bowman has actually used the term Nazi to refer to Michael Knowles. Literally. This year. Like six months ago.

So do I believe that Bowman didn’t consent to using the term ‘Nazi’? Yes, about as much as I believe he really thought pulling a fire alarm would open a door.
