Allstate just got a big black eye today in a Senate hearing where Senator Josh Hawley grilled their chief claims officer for not paying out claims, like that of a victim of Hurricane Helene who was at the hearing today.
Hawley really went after Mike Fiato, pointing out that several insurance adjuster witnesses confirmed that Allstate had asked them to reduce their payout assessment so they could maximize their profits. Fiato, of course, denied it.
