The media as well as some on the right are making a big deal about the fact that Trump said politicians who won’t admit they’ve gotten the booster are ‘gutless’.
NEWSWEEK – Speaking to the One America News Network (OANN), the former president said that many public figures do not have the “courage” to state either way if they have got the third dose to protect themselves and others against the virus.
Trump, who was recently booed by his own supporters for admitting he got the booster during an event with former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, also used the interview to say that the vaccine rollout in the U.S., which began under his administration may have saved “tens of millions” of lives.
“I’ve had the booster. Many politicians—I watched a couple of politicians be interviewed and one of the questions was, ‘Did you get the booster?’ because they had the vaccine, and they’re answering like—in other words, the answer is ‘yes’ but they don’t want to say it because they’re gutless,” Trump said.
“You gotta say it—whether you had it or not. Say it. But the fact is that I think the vaccines saved tens of millions of people throughout the world. I’ve had absolutely no side effects.”
Trump added that he doesn’t believe “young healthy people” and children should take the vaccine, which goes against the views of medical professionals.
The so-called ‘controversy’ people are drumming up about this is that they say Trump is attacking DeSantis in these comments. Trump doesn’t name any names, but I guess people want there to be a fight between Trump and DeSantis so they say that’s who he’s talking about.
Honestly, this is a non-story to me. Also, it’s about the booster vaccine and that’s about as boring as watching Nancy Pelosi get her eyebrows lifted.
But I guess people want ‘red meat’ fisticuffs so they are pushing this ‘controversy’. We’ll see if any politician responds to this, but I doubt they will.
