Florida’s new Surgeon General drops truth bombs about masking kids

Florida’s new Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo told the truth to people today about the data and the benefit of masking children, and in short there is none:

He starts by telling people to step away from what they are hearing on TV and proceeds to tell them that the data that supports masking children is “very weak”. Lapado argues that there’s a substantial gap between the quality of the data showing any benefit to masking and what we’re hearing from public health leadership in other states and nationally.

He says they are going to stay close to the data in Florida, and points out that the data shows no clinical benefit for children in schools under a mask mandate, adding “the highest quality data finds no evidence of benefit and we’re going to stick with that because that’s what the data shows.”

How refreshing to hear Lapado actually base policy decisions on actual data and not because it makes people feel better.
