Former Senior Gitmo Intelligence Officer Paul Rester can attest to the danger unleashed upon the world from the “Bergdahl five” that Obama released, because he oversaw them while at Guantanamo Bay.
Rester cites as evidence of the violent nature of Mohammad Fazl, and his importance to the other Gitmo prisoners, the fact that many would carry trophy photos of him with beheaded victims. I’m not quite sure why they would let them have such photos at all, but that wasn’t really explored.
As Rester puts it, “they were out of the battle, but still in the war.”
