There have been a lot of names and insults aimed at Trump flying around today in the wake of his comments today with Putin.
But one of the more ridiculous ones comes from former CIA Director John Brennan, who is accusing Trump of Treason:
Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???

This guy is a Trump-hating schmuck who constantly criticizes the president. Now of course if you’ve read any of my posts today, you know that I’ve been very critical of what Trump said today in throwing the intelligence community under the bus. But Treasonous? C’mon.
As Greg Jarrett put it…
Whenever John Brennan opens his mouth or tweets he removes all doubt about his ignorance. He clearly knows nothing about treason. The U.S. is not at war with Russia. He should read professor Carlton Larson's excellent analysis of treason in @washingtonpost on 2-17-17,

He’s right. But even in a more general sense of giving the enemy ‘aid and comfort’, Trump didn’t do that either. In fact Trump and his administration has been one of the tougher presidents on Russia.
And this from the man who referred to Jerusalem as ‘Al Quds’, who lied to the Senate, and who apparently voted for the Communist Party.
Yes Trump screwed up royally today and there’s no good excuse for what he said.
But let’s be real here. He’s not unpatriotic nor is he treasonous.
