On Outnumbered today, Chris Stirewalt hit back at the moral relativism on display by Jason Chaffetz when he defended the Arpaio pardon by pointing toward Obama:
The Stirewalt portion comes in the first half of the video, but I included the rest of the segment for those of you who want to watch it.
Stirewalt isn’t wrong here. If your precedent for defending or supporting Trump on something is based on what the previous president did, then we’ve completely lost objectivity.
I personally think Trump should have waited for the sentencing. But outside of that the pardon itself and the fact that it somewhat stinks of favoritism, it doesn’t bother me all that much as it was only a misdemeanor charge.
