Steve Doocy seems to back up Donald Trump’s story, saying he remembers seeing video on TV of people celebrating the 9/11 attacks and that his own neighbors said they saw it with their own two eyes:
Baier makes the point that it can’t be verified that there were thousands in New Jersey celebrating the attacks, but if there’s one thing we know about Donald Trump is that he’s prone to exaggeration. Trump took a true story of celebrations after 9/11 in New Jersey and exaggerated it for effect, and of course the media is getting hung up on the exaggeration.
I’m no Trump fan here but it seems to me the hubbub around this is a non-story at this point and the media just needs to move on. And to be fair, Trump needs to be less imprecise on his exaggerations going forward.
