So this is interesting. Rashida Tlaib tried to compare the shooting of black men by police with the white guys running around the Michigan capitol in protest of the lockdown:
Black people get executed by police for just existing, while white people dressed like militia members carrying assault weapons are allowed to threaten State Legislators and staff.

You can image some people were upset by the comparison. But honestly, for those of us who consider ourselves conservative, IF someone can prove a disparity in law enforcement, we should be opposed to it, right? Well, then the question becomes whether there is indeed a racial disparity in police shootings.
Here’s what the National Academy of Sciences found in a report on police shootings:
While law enforcement death toll from #Covid19 marches towards triple digits @RashidaTlaib takes a shot at us w/ her trash take on police officers. Might want to educate yourself on the facts before attacking the brave men/ women of law enforcement with your false narratives.1/3 https://t.co/RwoBtayVX0 pic.twitter.com/gR6pM0RZJ0

That’s very interesting, and I really hope it’s true. I definitely don’t want to go on ignoring a racial disparity in what should be the best country in the world. But that report makes me think that a lot of statistics liberals push about this are not quite accurate. I’d honestly like to see a fair assessment of these findings by those who disagree.
The Fraternal Order of Police continued:
Also, we hope to see this same energy from Congresswoman in dealing w/ activist DA's and Judges who are not enforcing our current gun laws on violent, repeat, gun toting felons. Cutting sweetheart deals for those violent dirtbags poses a much greater threat to our communities.2/3

As an American who was raised in a minority ghetto, I absolutely agree. I saw plenty of dirtbags keeping down their own people with crime while whining about oppression from the cops.
AND, they even address some of the excesses of the protests:
To protesters, while we respect everyone's right to assembly and we serve on the front lines to protect that right, please don't put our officers in the extra danger of getting in their face and possibly exposing them to #covid19. You can protest w/o risking health of officers 3/3

Very fair, I think.
