Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Lich has been denied bail because she’s a threat to the safety of the public, so says the liberal judge who denied it:
FOX NEWS – A Canadian judge denied bail for a key organizer of the trucking Freedom Convoy, citing that her detention was “necessary for the protection and safety of the public.”
“I cannot be reassured that if I release you into the community that you will not reoffend,” Ontario Court Justice Julie Bourgeois said Tuesday morning when denying organizer Tamara Lich bail, according to CTV News.
“Your detention is necessary for the protection and safety of the public,” Bourgeois said.
Lich was arrested last Thursday in Ottawa and was charged with counseling to commit mischief, CTV News reported. She said at a bail hearing on Saturday that she would give up on advocating for the movement and return to Alberta, the outlet reported.
Bourgeois also ordered on Tuesday that Lich have no contact with fellow protest organizer Patrick King, who has been arrested, and other convoy organizers such as Benjamin Dichter, Christopher Barber and Daniel Bulford.

Lich was denied bail because, in part, judge Julie Bourgeois believed that there was a risk that she would continue criminal actions. Bourgeois was a Liberal candidate for Glengarry-Prescott-Russell in 2011.
“There is a substantial risk you will continue these actions and will not abide by an order,” the judge told Lich. “Your recent history in our city … satisfies me that you’re detention is necessary for the safety and protection of the public.”
The judge also said that Lich was being “guarded” and that her attitude was “almost to be obstructive.”
Lich faces a charge of mischief, meaning she faces up to 10 years in prison.“The accused is liable, upon conviction, a lengthy term of imprisonment,” the judge said.
First it was Australia going full totalitarian over COVID. Now we see Canada going full totalitarian against their protesters over COVID and it’s disgusting. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Lich spends all 10 years of her possible sentencing in jail because this ruthless government wants to send a stark message to anyone considering this kind of civil rights protest ever again.
