This is WTVA out of Columbus and Tupelo in Mississippi. The major tornado that struck the town of Tupelo today also drove the TV station underground, as the meteorologist on duty made the call and ordered everyone to seek cover in the basement. All live on the air. Watch:
Everything turned out OK at the station, but not so for the city, where the damage was brutal and devastating.

On a personal note, Tupelo is my dad’s home town, and my Mee-Maw (you heard me) still lives there. We have spoken with her and they had no damage other than a few blown over flower pots. I hope you will all join me in a prayer for all of the residents of Tupelo tonight.
