George Bush sent his spokesperson out today to make sure everyone knows that the NY Times article over the weekend that claimed he’d decided not to vote for Trump is completely made up:
In an email to @texastribune’s @ragajus, George W. Bush spox @kyfredchicken denies @nytimes report: "This is completely made up. He is retired from presidential politics and has not indicated how he will vote.” https://t.co/tWelJOqmhv https://t.co/RiHpmkfa5Z

There was a flurry of prominent names this weekend of those who’ve decided not to vote for Trump in November, including Mitt Romney, Colin Powell and John McCain’s widow. I’m not sure why anyone cares so much about the latter, and neither Romney nor Powell are surprising. Heck Powell campaigned for Obama.
I am glad Bush came out and pushed back against the story, but even if he does vote for Trump you won’t see him donning a MAGA hat or campaigning for him. Whatever Bush decides to do, I expect he’ll keep it private and hold to his tradition of staying out of presidential politics.
