Georgia’s Governor Kemp today responded to requests for him to call a special session of the legislatures to take action against District Attorney Fani Willis.
In short, he says it will be up to the panel to decide whether her actions have merited a reprimand but he hasn’t seen anything she’s done to justify such action and he’s going to follow the law and the Constitution. He believes it is imperative not to abuse his power just to go after her because she’s filed charges against Trump:
Gov. Kemp squashes the idea of calling a special session to oust Fulton County DA Fani Willis, and criticizes Trump + his allies for pushing the issue.

Kemp also says he has not “seen any evidence” that Willis’ actions have merited a reprimand by the new DA oversight commission — but he says that will be up to the panel, which has been sued by critics as a threat to the judiciary’s independence. #gapol pic.twitter.com/yX10ElqEAT

I just asked Gov. Kemp if he thought lawmakers or officials should take any action against DA Fani Willis. He dismissed the idea. Here’s his quote: #gapol pic.twitter.com/ra9B2WNCgk
