Georgia Secretary of State announces he’s FINALLY going to do a signature audit

Now that the state electors have voted for Biden, Georgia’s Brad Raffensperger announced today that he will authorize a signature audit of absentee ballots in Cobb County, and may do the whole state:

THE HILL – Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) ordered an audit of voter signatures on absentee ballots in Cobb County on Monday, a move that will have no effect on the outcome of the presidential election in Georgia.

According to Raffensperger, allegations that the signature-matching process in Cobb County had not been done properly were received by his office. Raffensperger said at a press conference he may also order a statewide audit, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The audit in Cobb County will take two weeks, the paper reported, and may be able to show if signatures on absentee ballot-envelopes match signatures kept on file. However the newspaper noted that signatures cannot be matched to ballots after envelopes have been opened.

If Raffensperger can do them now, he could have done them within the last month since election day. Auditing Cobb County would have likely been enough to appease all of the critics alleging that much of the fraud came through the absentee ballot process.

So why did he wait until now to finally decide to do it? I’ve never accused Raffensperger of being anti-Trump like so many have, but I must say this smells really bad.

So what’s he going to do if he finds tons of ballots where the signatures were forged? I doubt Trump will get any apologies, not that it would matter. He’ll probably just shrug and make all kinds of excuses in order to try and keep his job.
