Last night, an opportunistic Occupier tweeted me a link to an ebay page selling “We are the 99%” and “Occupy Wall Street” bracelets. The irony of an anti-capitalistic movement being, well, capitalistic was too good to pass up. Not only does the Occupy movement have mugs, t-shirts, hats and bracelets, but they’re also advertising on national television.
Just last week, organizers of the Occupy movement in New York retained attorneys to file for a trademark of “Occupy Wall Street” and are now in competition with other individuals seeking to capitalize on the bratty, anti-American movement.
Welcome to anti-capitalism, capitalism-style. Oh and they’re just $2.99 each (plus shipping).
