GOOD: Florida REJECTS whopping 71% of MATH textbooks K-5 for progressive INDOCTRINATION.

Here’s even more good news on this Easter weekend. Florida’s new standards resulted in a major victory for parents and kids, for America’s education system, and thank you Gov. Ron DeSantis and all who made it possible. The Board of Education has rejected 41% of the submitted math textbooks – a shocking 71% of kindergarten through fifth grade – for being NOT MATH. Instead they were…

From the Board of Education announcement:

The approved list followed a thorough review of submissions at the Department, which found 41 percent of the submitted textbooks were impermissible with either Florida’s new standards or contained prohibited topics – the most in Florida’s history. Reasons for rejecting textbooks included references to Critical Race Theory (CRT), inclusions of Common Core, and the unsolicited addition of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in mathematics. The highest number of books rejected were for grade levels K-5, where an alarming 71 percent were not appropriately aligned with Florida standards or included prohibited topics and unsolicited strategies. Despite rejecting 41 percent of materials submitted, every core mathematics course and grade is covered with at least one textbook.

“It seems that some publishers attempted to slap a coat of paint on an old house built on the foundation of Common Core, and indoctrinating concepts like race essentialism, especially, bizarrely, for elementary school students,” said Gov. DeSantis in a statement released with the announcement. “I’m grateful that Commissioner Corcoran and his team at the Department have conducted such a thorough vetting of these textbooks to ensure they comply with the law.”

Florida Democrats quickly condemned the move. State Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith called the move “crazy right-wing pandering,” and state Rep. Anna Eskamani tweeted, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Florida Republican leaders are preparing to ban Algebra from high schools.”

The war against progressive indoctrination is being fought by Florida’s Gov. Ron DeSantis. I hope in 2024 he goes from General to Commander in Chief. I pray Donald Trump will see the wisdom in maintaining his power and ability to fundraise as a leader outside the White House. Ron is good in government but he could never match what Trump is doing from Mar-a-Lago and on the road. Nobody could. He’s irreplaceable where he is.
