Governor Ron DeSantis was asked this morning by a reporter about his veto of funding that went to the Tampa Bay Rays and his response got huge applause.

I love his answer. DeSantis knows they are trying to accuse him of stifling free speech, so he starts by pointing out that he simply doesn’t believe in “giving taxpayer dollars to professional sports stadiums period.” That’s what got him the huge applause.
But then he went on to explain that it’s also inappropriate to subsidize political activism, which is absolutely true and why I support this decision.
