Governor DeSantis signed a new badass immigration law today that really makes clear the state’s view on illegal immigration.
One of the things it does is to no longer accept IDs issued in sanctuary states or cities:
Florida will not be a sanctuary state that allows for illegal aliens to usurp our laws.
IDs issued by sanctuary jurisdictions will be invalidated in the state of Florida and using a fake ID to obtain employment will now be treated as a felony. pic.twitter.com/ECqWxHRJ36

It also forces businesses to use E-Verify for employment, ensuring that no illegal can legally work in the state of Florida:

Below is a list of what it does:
1. Mandates E-Verify for public and private employers:
Employers who fail to use E-Verify will be fined $1,000 per day until they comply with the law.
Penalties for employing illegal aliens include license suspension and even revocation for repeat offenders.

2. Enhances criminal penalties for human smuggling:
Those caught transporting illegal aliens will face 5 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Those caught transporting 5 or more illegal aliens—or a single unaccompanied minor—will face up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
