Marco Rubio went a little overboard trying to explain why it would be bad to shut down the government if the two parties can’t actually do their jobs.
Watch below:
He said “catastrophic” and then walked it back a little, but this all seems exaggerated to me. If there’s some kind of emergency America has to deal with, it’ll deal with it. The vast majority of government operations are just not that important. So what’s his deal with exaggerating the effect of a shut down? Is he trying to keep other conservatives from pushing too hard on shut down? I dunno… I guess we have to watch it play out.
