Governor Abbott is playing hardball with respect to the walkout of Democrats Sunday night to try and kill the election reform bill in Texas:
I will veto Article 10 of the budget passed by the legislature.
Article 10 funds the legislative branch.
No pay for those who abandon their responsibilities.
Stay tuned.

He writes: “I will veto Article 10 of the budget passed by the legislature. Article 10 funds the legislative branch. No pay for those who abandon their responsibilities. Stay Tuned.”
Abbott has already said he would call a special session of the legislature to ensure this election bill gets passed.
He also tweeted this out late last night:
The last time a stunt like this happened was…
…Wendy Davis. We all know how that story ended.https://t.co/R95Ey7rhRA

Lastly, Erick Erickson had something interesting to say about all of this last night:
The Dem walkout in Texas is useful because the political press will take the side of the Dems for obstructing in Texas while taking the side of the D’s in Washington against the filibuster. Non-political voters will realize the disconnect and further tune out the political press.

In other words, the media will support nearly everything Democrats do, even if it’s contradictory. He’s right, but many of us have already seen this playout too many times. Just look at the way the media treated Obama (and now Biden) vs how they treated Trump.
To say that many of us have lost confidence in the ‘political press’ is a huge understatement. But I hope he’s right and more people wake up.
