Last night Donald Trump hit Rep. Mo Brooks again, endorsing Katie Britt in the Alabama GOP senate primary run-off, after Brooks lost a huge lead in polling in the race – and more importantly after Brooks said it was time to “move on” from the 2020 election.
Trump dropped his endorsement of Brooks in March over his saying it is time to move on from the 2020 election. That was also the subject of a huge portion of this endorsement of Britt.
“Last year I endorsed Mo Brooks for the U.S. Senate because I thought he was a Fighter, especially when it came to the Rigged and Stolen Presidential Election of 2020. The evidence is irrefutable. Then, out of nowhere, and for seemingly no reason, Mo backtracked and made a big mistake by going Woke at our massive Cullman, Alabama Rally.” Trump said. “Instead of denouncing the Voter Fraud in the Election, Mo lectured the crowd of 63,000 people saying, ‘Put that behind you, put that behind you,’ meaning that, in effect, forget the Rigged Election and go on to the future. The problem is, if you do that, it will happen again. Also, why do Republicans allow Democrats to get away with rigging and stealing elections? Mo was strongly booed by tens of thousands of Great Alabama Patriots for abandoning his constituents, and what they know to be true about the Election Fraud. He foolishly started listening to the wrong consultants and not to the people, and his 54-point lead evaporated overnight. Likewise, his words caused me to withdraw my Endorsement, and Mo has been wanting it back ever since—but I cannot give it to him!”
Only after that opening did he move into the endorsement, which he shared on TRUTH. Britt tweeted about it last night.
President Trump knows that Alabamians are sick and tired of failed, do-nothing career politicians.
In the Senate, I will fight to defend Alabama’s values, advance the America First agenda, and preserve the American Dream for generations to come. #alsenhttps://t.co/sfBxHkhA1w

Not everyone is thrilled with the choice. Mark Levin points out that Britt loves Mitch McConnell, who supports her, and she’s been praised by the head of the Alabama Democrat party. “I hope Mo can pull it off,” said Levin.
This is a gut punch. Very disappointing. Britt is a McConnell-supported RINO praised by the head of the Alabama Democrat Party. I hope Mo can pull it off. Lord knows we need his conservative voice and vote in the Senate.https://t.co/tBHxsg2nma

Liberty Daily’s JD Rucker adds that you “can’t drain the swamp if you keep trying to fill it with McConnell sludge.”
Mitch McConnell's super PAC pumped $2 million into Alabama to help Katie Britt, and now Trump just endorsed her.

Brooks, meanwhile, is lashing out, and said Trump got “conned” by McConnell for a second time in the race. And that Donald Trump Jr. called her “Alabama’s Liz Cheney.”
This is weird: last time Donald Trump talked about Katie Britt, he said she was unqualified for the Senate.
Donald Trump is the only man in American politics who could get conned by Mitch McConnell twice in an Alabama Senate race.

Let’s just admit it: Trump endorses the wrong people sometimes. He endorsed Mitt Romney, he endorsed John McCain and now he’s endorsed Katie Britt, who his own son, Don Jr. called “Alabama’s Liz Cheney.”

And yep, Trump did say that about McConnell’s choice.
CNN seems to be very excited about the Alabama Liz Cheney jumping in against MAGA Mo Brooks. #alsen https://t.co/CpUqNbc6Qc

Ouch. Guess we’ll see what happens but it’s kind of a mess out there at the moment. Gotta say it looks like Trump wants to put a win on the board and thinks she’ll beat Brooks and — that might be it. That might be the only rationale. That or revenge?
Talk amongst yourselves about that. Or anything else.
