Hagel receive funding from group called “Friends of Hamas”?

Well this is certainly an eye opener. According to Senate sources, the reason Hagel hasn’t released documents on his sources of foreign funding is because he received funding by a group named “Friends of Hamas”. Breitbart has the story below:

On Thursday, Senate sources told Breitbart News exclusively that they have been informed that one of the reasons that President Barack Obama’s nominee for Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, has not turned over requested documents on his sources of foreign funding is that one of the names listed is a group purportedly called “Friends of Hamas.”

Yesterday, 25 senators sent a letter to Hagel demanding information on his foreign funding. Hagel has refused all such requests, prompting the senators to state, “in the judgment of the undersigned, a Committee vote on your nomination should not occur unless and until you provide the requested information.”

The Emergency Committee for Israel has come out with a new ad on Hagel and Iran:

As one might expect, a vote on Hagel’s nomination in the Senate has been postponed as of yesterday.

  1. A group that doesn’t exist in…Shapiro is obviously looking for a new career as a fiction writer. No doubt he’ll fail at that as well, since it’s obviousl that he’s completely untalented. Although he’s most certainly more devoted to a foreign state than to his (theoretically) own country.

  2. Ah…only one problem with this story…there’s no evidence that the organization – “Friends of Hamas” actually exists. I guess that doesn’t bother anyone here, eh? You don’t mind being played for rubes, do you?

  3. This guy Hagel is just as dangerous as Obama, and Hagel probably is a friend of the Muslim Brotherhood just like his boss, Obama.

  4. The GOP should strip him of his RINO status, whereby he can no longer use the “R” next to his name. The commie & terrorist friendly party who uses the “D” moniker should welcome him with open arms for this revelation.

  5. I would not want this man in charge of intelligence and security for my dog house, much less my country.

    1. Obviously you and intelligence have a mutually exclusive relationship. Being taken in by fabricated stories really says it all.

  6. Whoa, Whoa, WHOA!! S&#* has really hit the fan! Our very own SecDef nominee is engaged in this crap? Anyone that votes for this man, D, R, or I, is a disgrace.

I wonder what the media will say? I wonder whether Democraps will wake up from their trance?

    1. My guess is the MSM won’t say anything, and the Dems will never awake from their trance. The entire administration is filled with Muslim sympathizers.

  7. http://shoebat.com Search: Abedin “Affairs” with Al Saud…takes you to Stop the Witch Hunt Against Michelle Bachman thread…click on last phrase of post: her concerns have been validated and you will find answers to MANY questions concerning muslim bhood and the infiltration of tyranny and goals of islam….

  8. Actually, now we can all see why Obama likes this guy so much. They think alike. If this loser is made Secretary of Defense, the Republicans may as well just pack up in Washington and go home. If they can’t convince the American public that this is a really lousy candidate, then they can’t convince the American public of anything, especially after all of the mistakes Hagel made last week. Pathetic.

  9. Lovely… So we’ll have Brennin – who believes that the Muslim Brotherhood is largely secular. And we’ll have Hagel – who actively accepts money from a radical terrorist group. And we have Kerry – who spit on his fellow soldiers after Vietnam. And we apparently don’t have anyone answering the critical phone calls at 2am. And we are pulling back a whole carrier group from the war zones. And they want to take our ability to defend ourselves on the homefront.

Did I sum up the foreign policy/defense good news of the week? What a cluster you know what…

  10. Lol… every single one of Obama’s appointee’s… including Obama himself… has multiple skeletons in their closets. Multiple bodies buried in the yards.

That’s been their plan all along? Don’t release anything?

This is what America voted for? More corrupt, lying politicians? Where are the noble statesmen? Why even vote on this traitor? Don’t vote for him… how simple is that? I expect the tard Democrats to support this first class loser but for any Republicans who support him… they immediately enjoy instant fame by going to the top of my list for people to vote out of office. This must end!!!

  11. “So bang the drum slowly and play the fife lowly…”

Let’s see, which of you were saying the Hagel nomination was a “done deal” last week, and that the questioning was just a formality?

Dagnabbit, I should’ve listed all the names that day. Now I don’t remember.

Maybe a small glass of wine will help. Gulp, gulp, gulp, gulp, gulp…nope. ‘Twas tasty though.

  12. The Dems are hoping that the GOP will filibuster Hagel so they can then blame the Republicans for the failure of Obama’s nominee to get confirmed. I actually think they ought to let the Dems hang themselves on this – the old Peter’s Principle. Hagel will be incompetent and disastrous, so let him. One of these days the Dems will pay the price.

    1. Remember Hagel is an R so GOP will be blamed for the failure while Barky says “I was inclusive, I reached across the aisle and appointed a Republican to a critical position in my cabinet”

  13. This revelation begs a number of obvious questions, starting with what the heck was the Obama administration thinking in putting Hagel’s name forward?

    In light of this revelation:

    – Will the three Republican Senators who were prepared to support Hagel’s nomination change their mind?

    – Will the Democratic Senators, lead by Chuck Schumer continue to support Hagel’s nomination?

    1. Exactly. This disqualifies him for security clearances needed for the job, and the Senate knows that.

Are we surprised that this only came out after the vote was postponed?
Confirming him and supporting his confirmation is pretty close to a crime at this point. Very close. If it can be shown that he is ‘on the payroll’ of this group, his associates in the senate could be under investigation to lose any of their security clearances. Our government doesn’t hand out top-secret clearance to anyone.

Even if he is confirmed, this revelation alone will undermine his authority and hobble his ability to even perform the job.

      1. So…supposedly belonging to an organization that doesn’t actually exists disqualifies him? Wow, you’re a genius!! I’ll bet you think ACORN stole the 2012 election too, right? Have you no shame?

        1. You really didn’t read the story did you?

Hagel has refused to answer any questions on foreign funding for his campaigns. That, regardless of the organizations tied to it, is enough to justify not giving him top-secret clearance, which would mean he can’t do the proposed job.

“Yesterday, 25 senators sent a letter to Hagel demanding information on his foreign funding. Hagel has refused all such requests…”

Hagel HAS refused to answer those questions, unless you think Hagel is doing a hack-job in the news on himself. And that is even if this purported group name is incorrect… cuz we don’t know, as Hagel hasn’t given any information out.

If you’ve ever tried to get top-secret clearance, you’ll know that they want every single connection you’ve ever had over the past 15 years or more, and they investigate ALL of them.

  14. If Hagel doesn’t go down in flames I’ll be surprised because they’re looking for a way to get rid of him. This is only the tip of the iceberg and I had read last week he’s on the board of one of Soros’ organizations. Yesterday, I read they’re investigating him about a sexual harassment charge which involved his office so at this point he should remove his name from consideration and save everyone the trouble and himself from further embarassment.

    1. SJ –

I’m not sure if people like this can be embarassed. I believe that would require having some charachter.

      1. Okay, but wouldn’t you think his wife would tell him? I always think of that because I would but maybe he’s not married. Geesh.

      2. It’s you who should be embarrassed duke, you’re being played for a fool. This is nothing but made up tripe. Friends of Hamas doesn’t exist – yet you bought in completely. Your lack of character makes you a fool.

    2. You get surprised these days?!?! WTF?

If it is contemptible, evil, ruthless, disgusting, profane, immoral, illegal and a straight shot to tasteless this administration has done it, is doing it and will do it.

Oh yeah, and no Republicans will do anything about it.

      1. Actually, the terms ” contemptible, evil, ruthless, disgusting, profane, immoral, illegal and a straight shot to tasteless” should be applied to this site and to breitbart and any others that push this factless hooey. There is no organization called Friends of Hamas, there’s no proof whatsoever of it’s existence. But you bought into it completely. You’re a fool.

        1. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH liberal…..do us all a favor and go hang yourself. You are a disgrace to humanity and a traitor to this country.

      1. And “weenie” wants to run again after embarassing US. It sickens me how these glorified liberals in Hollywood and politics are even getting talk shows on the networks. Spitzer has one, Martha Stewart (who was guilty of insider trading) is still on the air and so on…..get rid of them all now.

    1. Um, getting funding from a group openly associating itself with a group the U.S. government lists as a ‘terrorist organization’.

      um…

That doesn’t just raise red flags, that qualifies for stripping him of security clearance. How would it be to have a sec. of defense who can’t legally view top-secret or confidential documents, or be allowed into the oval office and command centers such as NORAD?

This is more than a joke. This is a blatant conspiracy.

      1. Spot on. I had “Secret” clearance in the USAF… and I all but got a full body cavity search to get it.

This guy should be humiliated and kicked out right now.

        1. Sober, If you had done any research whatsoever, you’d find that Friends of Hamas doesn’t exist. Learn anything? How about doing a 10 second google search before believing everything you read…

          1. I posted this comment weeks ago.

If you’re going to be troll… at least show up to the party on time.

No wipe your mouth… there’s still some poop on it.

      2. I jest but these Congressmen going after this Hagel donation is just an accidental bit of flotsam in a huge and deep subversion of our country.

Obama gives money he took from us to his patrons, Obama and his leftist buddies get money back from the patrons. To pull this scam with Solyndra and Labor Unions is criminal. To pull it with Hamas is treason.

Obama Is Spending $1 Billion Dollars To Aid Palestinian Hamas Terrorists
        http://christwire.org/2009/03/obama-is-spending-1-billion-dollars-to-aid-palestinian-hamas-terrorists/

        1. The fact that this is happening out in the open is a huge statement of what is really happening behind the scenes. You are right.

      3. Actually, the government doesn’t list Friends of Hamas a “terrorist organization.” Why? Because the organization doesn’t actually exist.

“The problem, as you might have surmised, is that “there’s no proof that ‘Friends of Hamas’ actually exists.” As Weigel explained, “The Treasury Department, which designates sponsors of terror, has done so to many charities tied to Hamas. ‘Friends of Hamas’ is not among them. The State Department doesn’t designate it, either. And a bit less holistically, a Lexis search for the group reveals absolutely nothing.”

The author of this piece thinks you’re stupid, and it looks like he may have good reason, you bought into this tripe complete

      4. You should get the facts before posting stupid comments, or is that too inconvenient for your Israel-first narrative?

        1. Perhaps we should make a policy of waiting a week before reading any news story? What would you suggest?

As for an ‘israel-first’ narrative, I had no such thing. I mentioned that hamas was listed as a terrorist organization by the US Govt. And I found it interesting that this purported group was blatantly tied to that, and found serious implications for security creds. THe implications on security creds are still present unless Hagel can account for the funds via some other group. If this is a fraud, then my point is lessened, but not invalid.
